So, I know that this subject has been pretty well worn out for the most part. I was a member here for the quick shift mass buy and have heard a lot about them and how well they work.

Now, I had planned to buy one from the guys at BC Broncos, but saw they have another from PCS call Simple Shift. And in my research I discovered that there are at least three more.

US Shift - $550
PCS - $650
ATOMIC - $695
PERFORMANCE AUTOMATIC - $895
COMPUSHIFT - $1100

Now, I don't think I'll be paying $1100 for something that will perform the same function as another product that's half the price. In fact the customer service person at Monster Transmission I spoke to recommended the Performance Automatic variety. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience or any information on any of these other alternatives. In my experience, cheapest usually means "not best", but that's not always the case either. Any thoughts guys/gals?

I absolutely love my US Shift, and their tech line has one of the best guys (Kevin, I think?) working and helping troubleshoot that you'll ever find anywhere.

Well that's what I'd heard. There isn't a single person I've run into (online or otherwise) that doesn't like the US Shift controller.

What I'm really interested in is if anyone has ever even heard of someone running something else. Just about 100% of the time, I'm willing to pay more to get more as long as it is quantifiably better. I wouldn't pay $1100 for something that can be done for $550 for any reason. But I could see paying an extra $100 if you really actually are getting more than just the same thing in a different package.

Some of the options I've listed allow you to upgrade to paddle shifters if you desire. Most people would scoff at that, but I think it's pretty trick and could see at least leaving it for an option later. But I guess the point is to find out if those options are in fact better by any sense of the word.

My US Shift / Optishift has the paddle shift option.

I would be impressed if somebody has a better product or support than US Shift.

Well I think you may be right. I had hoped that I might get another opinion but frankly, there might not be one because there's not a reason for anyone to have anything else. Fair enough.

Baumann, now US Shift (Optishift) has worked great in a couple different projects. Customer support has been wonderful even with my oddball questions. I have seen the new manual has the info I requested that wasn't in the old manual.

Another option, less flexible in terms of tenability, Explorer OBD-II EFI with trans support. EFI and trans all in one computer. But you pretty much get the default shift pattern. I like making my own. You get to have some fun and put creativity and your personal touch in it. You don't really get to do that with EFI. EFI is simply make it run right. Trans you can set shifts to your taste.

Does anyone have a direct line for Baumann tech support? I have emailed, and called several times, with no response. I have three wires remaining to connect my controller and it is impacting my first test drive with the Coyote.

Essentially, I need to know what to do with the green wire if your engine does not have a TPS sensor. The Coyote drive by wire system is the crux. Secondly the power and grounds state to connect as close to the ECU as possible, but there are several power and grounds to choose from.

Does anyone have a contact there?
Thanks
Dennis

Dennis, this might be the contact info you already have but this is what I found on my USShift paperwork- (864) 646-8920.

Next, really glad to see your project nearing completion. Your rig has always been one of my favorites on here. Good luck!

Kenny
