4R70W Crossmember help

Just installed my 4R70W with adapter from wild horses. They say in the very limited instructions you can modify the crossmember. Attached is a pic on how far back the crossmember will be from the original location. I see no alternative between either fabricated crossmember or cutting the mounts off the frame and rewelding them. Let me know if Im missing anything.

Couple of options, you can mod the original by cutting the back off of the mount that attaches to frame, weld a piece of plate back on that is long enough to reach the original mounting hole in the frame.
Another option is to get a piece of angle and cut it long enough to bolt to the original holes and catch the cross member, this is what I did because I had a piece the right size laying around and it is less work.
