I used the stock dipstick and tube on my buddy’s build, but we’re also using stock manifolds. I think using headers is where you may run into issues with the stock dipstick.

I used the Explorer 4R dipstick and have headers. Had to adjust the bends a bit but nothing too radical

I also used the stock tube plus dipstick w/o issue on stock manifolds. Had to tweak a bend slightly, and weld a hold down strap to it, but it fits nicely.

Used an AOD dipstick. Works great and saved 150 bucks. :)

I used the stock dipstick with shorty headers. No mods. Bolted into the back of the head just like it did on the explorer.

Explorer worked fine for me, With a 351 it did need a new tab since the heads were higher. The Explorer cleared everything even without a body lift.

I used stock on 351 as well with some tweaking, really liked the lokar but couldn’t get happy with how it read. Other than that I thought it was a quality piece. The factory look was nice with the stock one also.

Does anyone have a Ford part number for the stock 4r70w dipstick with the small yellow ring handle at the end? I ordered a E7TZ-7A020-C but it has a "T" shaped handle and is shorter.
