Finally scored some new rims and tires for my 67. Started cleaning up each wheel and reviewing the brake situation. Creeping a long little by little.

Thanks to the forum I was able to get some nice tires on powder cated rims . The look goes with the rat rod look that I'm going for. Love it!

Well the morning went well and off came the body. Frame looks really good compared to the many frames I have seen and worked on. Need new body mounts and of course the body work.

Just doing a little cleanup on things. A little different approach then taking it all apart. My rat rod version is coming a long. The only big difference will be the engine compartment. Hey to each his own.

Thank You K. Don't think there are too many interested in what I'm doing so it's nice to hear from the forum. Right know I removed all of the brake lines which were very crusty. Ordered the remaining parts from Nick @ Northeast Classic Ford. I was wondering if the rear cross panel can be removed for a back seat, or is it structural .

If your talking about the bulkhead behind the front seats - yes it can be removed, it is not required for strength.

Okay, have some laughable observations from a newbie. Noticed that the rear axles housing has been cut. Not sure why and to me the center pumpkin looks pretty big. Do they just sell the interior floor panel that goes under the seat area.

That's stock and part of the manufacture of the old "banjo" style housing.

..and to me the center pumpkin looks pretty big.

In what way? They are actually pretty beefy pieces of work. That's why they're so popular.
While there were three sizes of diff I believe (8-inch, 9-inch and what, 9.25-inch maybe?) I've never seen one of the big ones and the smaller so-called 8" was the same basic setup visually.
The big change in housing came in the full size trucks first at some point, then the '77 Bronco got the same style before changing into the big Bronco in '78.
Those later style housings did not have the welded seams where the tubes come in. More of a "fabbed" housing if you will, with an obvious transition where the axle tubes enter the center.

I see Bronco Hut has 2 piece floor panels that they say are easier to install over using 1 piece Anyone use them.

Today I mocked up the headers on the motor. Had to do a little massaging but all in all there a good fit. How cool is this.................. a 6 banger, gotta love it! Already have the patina
