Looking great, are you keeping it un-cut?

For the time being. Haven't convinced myself to cut it yet. I'm going to start looking into getting the rear wheel well opening moved forward 3 or so inches. Depends what it costs I guess. Don't really want to attempt that on my own. This is my first attempt at welding. I have plug welds down pretty good but anything else is hit and miss.

Best answer I can give about the rear, Contact Bax, his looks un-cut but the opening is larger, looks great too!

Yeah I've looked at Bax's build in good detail. I'm not looking to move my body line up like he did. That's definatley over my head. Moving it forward will work I think. I had a '70 a couple years ago that I parted out to fund another project and I sold the rear quarter cut outs to a buddy of mine. Shoulda kept them I could have used them to graph in the extension. Flares are going to set me back $400 by the time I get them shipped so I can put that cash towards figuring this out.

Got the steering column, dash and windshield out today. Found some rust on the backside of the driver's side hood mount. Also hopped across the border this morning to pick up my new speedometer.

Ha Ha Ha. Looks like I swiped it off craigslist before you could get your grubby mitts on it. Got it off craigslist from a guy in Seattle. He met me in Bellingham yesterday. Its still in the ford box.

Looks great man!! I'm in the middle of a 77 resto as well, and I'm about just where you are. I know your pain. Baby steps. It's all about baby steps.

Looking good Steve, looks like you'll be ready for SOB. Man, that's alot of bodywork. Did you use POR15 on the frame and drivetrain? If it's lifted, which it is, I"d definately cut the rear. I think they look kind of funny lifted and uncut in the back. Plus, if you wheel it, you want to be able to stuff those tires.

Hey Phil, yeah lots O bodywork. I've learned a ton though and my welding has really improved. Frame was wire wheeled, primered and then tremclad semi gloss black was brushed on. The brush on tremclad is really good. The spray can shit is garbage. I've done a couple trailers with it and been very happy. Goes on real thick. Closes thing to powder coating for $30 a gallon.

I've always been of the opinion that lifted uncuts look shitty too. This one's growing on me though. If I look into getting the wheel wells stretched and see the quote I'm pretty sure my war flares will be on order 10 mins later.

Hey any chance you have an extra wiper linkage kicking around? I took mine off and one of the arms is stripped. Don't think I'm going to get it back on.

I got the body back off the frame on Saturday. Was supposed to be going to the blasters this week. My washing machine decided to back up all over my hallway and living room Saturday afternoon. Sandblasting money might be going to house insurance deductible instead. Hopefully they wave my deductible and things go ahead as planned.

Got my rotisserie done. The posts were inherited from my dad. He did a 22 year frame off of his '69 Dart 340 GTS. He had them mounted permanatly to the floor in his garage. So I made up the under tub bracing on the weekend and made it mobile. Works well I'm happy with it and then fact it only cost me $80 to build it. So its off to the blasters.....
