Hello all,

New here, been out of bronco scene for a good 10 plus years. I have had this 72 since the mid eighties and build it into a wheeler /driver with the proceeds from buying and parting out 10+ Broncos over the years. life happened, got really busy with kids, work etc and Bronco has been sitting for 10 or 12 years.

try to sell it a while back andbetween unappreciative low ball offers and the test drives putting a smile on my face again I have decided to try and get it road/ trail worthy again.

Originally was built up with wild horses long travel suspension and cage, disc brakes, power steering, homemade replacement floor pans and rebuilt windshield frame with stainless hinge.

I started with overhauling the Quadrajet, next will be replacing the master cylinder, rear brakes and axle seals, then rebushing the suspension. Body is still solid but my 15 year old amateur body work /primer spots have turned it into surface rust making it look like a rust Leppard. debating whether to run the body as is or paint it. a little hesitant to paint it as plenty of the trails are really tight and the paint would get thrashed quick.

I will try to post pictures soon, let me know if there are anythin you guys would like to see or hear about.

I say paint it with implement paint. It's fairly inexpensive and you can do it yourself. I painted my beadlocks with it. After 3-4 yrs on the rocks they are still shiny even though they have major rash. It'll look better painted and each scratch will have a story to tell.

Tractor paint makes sense, just worried about how much time / energy goes into prep then get beat and scratched on the trail...

1st step engine compartment after cleaning 10+ years of grime off.

Next replace brake master w/ modern AL / plastic one...

Keep it just the way it is and enjoy it for a while! Trucks in that kind of condition are the best to have you can use them and not be worried about him too much, yet are cool to look at

Hey Blue, pretty much just trying to get it convenient and safe for the road. Still up in the air about body but will be using it as is when we get it legal in a few weeks.

Pics = Modern master is in, old master with the tools it took to change it, the boss rebushing 20 year old Rancho 9000s

Hey all, sorry to stop and start like that. Just when I thought I had more time to devote to getting the Bronco back on the road stuff happens. We did get the front end rebushed. saw a nice Bronco in Home Depot parking lot.

just got to get the lights working, possibly install a set of gauges and then hope to start a new thread on the first test drive ( mostly back roads and dirt, hopfuly sea level to 7,000 feet or so) in the next couple weeks.

as far as the flaring tool we've got three others (Eastwood turret lever style, old school clamp together Blue Point, rigid slide together) this hydraulic 1 from Mastercool is by far the best. Especially for doing on vehicle repairs as it can get in quite a bit tighter areas than the rest and still make a really good flare.

Nice solid looking rig! I would keep it like that and drive it for a while too. Love the Mastercool flaring setup. Even makes nice leak free flares on stainless brake line!
What vehicle is that master out of?

brake master cylinder application it is 1990 f350.

when my kids were younger we would have 1 car seat bolted to the floor and two kids in the rear seat and those sliding windows made a huge difference in comfort for them. my younger daughter who is now 22 still says the best sleep she ever got was falling asleep Offroad in the backseat of the Bronco.

Hello all, sad to say life is getting in the way of progress and I've had to list this for sale locally. A family member on the west coast has serious illness and we are packing up the shop, business, house and moving across the water at the beginning of the year. I will try to get the Bronco in the classified section soon. Thanks for all the help and suggestions
