• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

1973 Bronco Explorer 41k. Original miles with signed Dean Jeffries artwork

Collectors dream! It’s possible this Bronco should be sitting in a museum, but it sure is fun to drive and in it’s prime at 41k original miles! /// Recently rescued from Los Angeles where Bronco was stored indoors since 1990! /// A real time capsule preserved as it was when purchased and modified by it’s one and only owner before current seller! /// Original title, warranty card, and owners manual are just a few cool, rare souvenirs that come with this beauty! /// Period correct Hooker headers and glasspacks sound great and pay tribute to the times! /// Working 8 track player with Beach Boys tape to crank when cruising down PCH! /// Stroppe tow hitch in place, and period roll bar remain /// Virtually everything is preserved as it was in the 70’s, the perfect hard top has never been off of this RUST FREE time machine! /// Seller took great care to preserve and only serviced what had to be serviced to safely return this Bronco to the streets, all original parts removed have been save and are included with sale including period wheels with Desert Duelers /// Recent work includes complete cooling system overhaul with heater core done also, complete braking system overhaul with all new cylinders, and OE type hoses, both fuel tanks serviced, tune up with hidden Pertronics Ignitor2, partial carburetor rebuild, automatic transmission service with filter /// Runs and drives good, recently was driven to Wild Horses Roundup (200 mile trip) with no problems.

Dean Jeffries Connection

When new in 73 Dean Jeffries customized and signed this Bronco, Dean Jeffries was a legendary car builder and one of the founding fathers of custom paint work. Just some of his credits include The Monkees GTO from the popular TV show, The Green Hornet Black Beauty, The Mantaray which won the special constructors award at the 1964 Oakland Roadster Show. Dean shared a love of racing with friends like Carrol Shelby, and movie legend James Dean, Jeffries lettered, and striped the actors “Little Bastard” Porsche 550 Spyder weeks before the tragic accident that claimed his life. Dean Jeffries died at the age of 80 in 2013, in researching the signed artwork I was able to contact Deans son Kevin Jeffries for authentication, in an email response to photographs I sent Kevin stated “I of course cannot be 100% certain, but the lettering style of the signed name and the detail on the front of the hood is very much his style. You likely have found an original.” I will include a copy of the correspondence with the sale, out of respect for the family I will not participate in attempting to acquire further authentication. I have seen this one in person. I do not know if I have ever seen a better original upholstery/interior/mat… Rust free too!

What a great find! I love the pin striping and to have his name attached, is amazing. How did the owner come to getting it striped by Dean? By any chance were you able to collect any original photos or paper documents for the vehicle (original title, dealer paperwork, or even aftermarket tire rack)?

Hi Jim,

That looks great!

I'd buy it just for the 8-track tape player so that I could listen to some of my vintage tapes!

The tire rack I just added, I think it is a Kayline but I adapted it to look like the one that was on the bronco. I do have the original title and warranty tag
