73 Fuel line diagrams? Carb choice?

So, I blew up my 1973 Bronco engine. :( The water temp gauge was not working, and the head gasket was passing water. My dad told me to keep checking water every day and I ignored him. I guess he knows what he's talking about.

Soooo......it's at the shop getting a fresh reman 302 longblock and the mechanic is going to also install a new front side gas tank my dad bought. The old one I guess got ripped out after a 4WD mishap.

The mechanic says there is a manual diverter under driver seat but that it seems to have too many ports for two tank to a non emissions control vehicle.

Can anyone share a diagram or instructions on all the fuel line connections or point me to a source? He says its ready to go except for the gas tank. I'm itching.

Also, if I buy an Edelbrock intake, do most agree that Holley TruckMaster 470 is a good choice for carb, and if so, do I need to run new dual exhaust for that set up?

'73 Broncos had a one year only fuel line system that had a supply and return line. If you had two tanks, you had two lines coming out of each and a six port fuel switch. '73 was the only year of that six port switch and the two port fuel tank sending units.

A lot of those dual line systems are long gone and have been replaced with a standard single line. If that's the case with your, take out the six port switch under the seat and replace it with the common three port switch.

If you do remove it, don't get rid of it. It's a one year only part and worth something to someone.
