Will the 9 inch rear end from a '74 F100 3.50 gears work to replace my '69 bronco's stock 9 inch?

It is about 6" wider.
All the spring and shock mounts will be in the wrong places.

But if you want tires that stick out past the body and can fab a new set of mounts, then yes it can be made to fit. But it is not considered an interchangeable part.

:D:D:D It will be 31 spline and in some trucks you will find 9 3/8 rear ends and you will need to grind the houseing to put it into a bronco houseing.%)%)%) Bill %);D

I thought the 9 3/8 axles were under the full size cars in the late 60's? I don't recall them ever being in trucks or I should say I have never read that nor seen it.

If the truck is an F100 couldn't it have a 28 spline set up? even if the truck is a 31 spline yu can swap the spider gears from 31 to 28.

A lot of early trucks especailly F100's had 28 spline axles just as most vans did. the 9 3/8in ring gear is rare to find in trucks and since it probably also has the early banjo style housing it wont be a 9 3/8's even then you may only need to clearance the housing opening slightly to install one.

I have found the 28/31 spline to be more of a year then then anything else, at least in the full size trucks. At one time I knew they year it changed, sometime in the early 70's

Thanks guys, I don't think the tag on the pumpkin has the spline count. So know way to know with out pulling it. What I am trying to do is get my son's bronco back on the road. The pumpkin is making a big noise so time to replace. I found a replacement but I did not want the guy to have to pull it apart and it not fit my housing and axles.
