Well I'm trying to bring the ole '69 back to life. But my gawd she's been rode hard.

It was such a purty rig back in '04 when I first turned her loose on the trails and rocks.

Anyway...I'm about halfway through replacing the rear springs (killed the last set..) and then its on to installing the RCV axles in the front.

Oh..and I got all the lights working again..%)

Lookit what a sad mess that engine compartment has become....A decade of mud, water and slinging both.

Ha. I can barely find time and shop space to simply repair what's broken and get 'em running again.

I decided some time ago that the ole '69 was far too "old school" of a build to spend a lot of time on mods...so she's getting repaired and some sheet metal replaced and then "Semi Retired", meaning a huge reduction in the amount of abuse heaped on 'er. (Read: Keep Matt out from behind the wheel...:D)

I have almost everything on hand to build another EB trail rig..if/when I get to that, It'll be the one with all the "wish I had done" stuff like a 4-link..;)

Its like a boat. You got to use it or loose it. Well a boat goes away quicker but you know what I mean. Fix it and run it.

Yeah that ole girl still looks mean. That was some crazy weekend 10 years ago.
Hey are those custom shims/axle wedges still there after all these years or were they replaced with something less trick?

Ha..they only recently went in the scrap bin. Replaced by all new perches when the new springs went under her.

It was hard to beat the collection of old steel we all used to shim them the first time though...made out of whatever spring parts we could quickly lay our hands on at Pat's place.

Good times...good times.;D
