Any of the closed cell foam/foil products will work better than the asphalt based products. Dynomat extreme is closed cell foam, dynomat is asphalt. The closed cell can be used in high moisture areas like the doors or broncos in general, and will not mold or mildew like asphalt or similar products. It has better heat resistance, is lighter weight and sticks better. Many people have reported problems with the peal 'n seal, which is basically an adhesive shingle. The peal 'n seal will work on a the floor, but I wouldn't use it on a top or any verticle surface, expect it to peal off when baked in the sun. If you know someone who works at best buy, get them to buy a bunch of trunk kits, they are about 75% off when bought on discount! All self adhesive sound deadeners like to stick to a clean flat surface. So do all the paint first, seal it, then wipe it down with IPA right before you lay the deadener. It is easier to work with 1-2" strips than with a whole sheet, so use a razor blade to cut the strips. If you are working with a foil backed deadener, you will have lots of cuts on all your fingers and it will hurt when you get IPA in the cuts!

I've used secondskin and it works great. It holds up real well to the heat here in the desert as well. I haven't had any problems with it coming off my doors after I put it on. There was some pretty good info on the site last time I was there as well. It used to be cheaper than dynamat too, but I'm not sure about now.

Somewhere I had (and lost) a cool link from someone who got some material from everywhere he could. did a bunch of tests at home. Heat lamps and melting, stuff like that. Made a chart that showed what each one did and where it preformed good and bad. cost breakdown as well. One size does not fit all. Best part, completely un-biased. He was asking for donations to help offset his research. Great site, but I can't find the link.
