I doubt he did all/any of the work himself. My guess is he's not a true EB lover and just bought what was quickly available to him...... Probably critiqued the hell out of it and still couldn't get it right.

Obviously he should stick to critizing music, if he was a car critic he would have immediately spoted the flaw in that wheel and tire combo and the rollbar, and probably a bunch of other things that are wrong with that bronco that we can't see...lol

A few have said he needs to be relieved of it, he can keep it I'll relieve him of one of his Bentlys, so I can sell it and afford to build my version of the perfect bronco....lol and a new tow rig and trailer and...lol

Did anyone ever figure out what the wheel/tire profile is for Cowells bronco? I sorta like the wheels for the street. The roll cage is all wrong.

I tried to blow up the image but couldn't see.

Wheels

Ok I'm guessing nobody else likes Simon's poser wheels. I looked around and my guess is that they are ION Alloy 179 black machined rims 17s or 18s
But I think they have 8 bolt holes and I guess only 5 would be used? Never seen that before.

Wonder if I can get them to fit my uncut stock height 74 somehow.

Something similar to these maybe.

Ok, continuing on my own personal thread.. I think the following is highly similar to this wheel setup for street use:

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO - 235/80R17 (I assume the will fit an 8"rim)
ION Allow 179 17x8 rims +10mm offset 5x139.7 bolt pattern
My calcs says that should be 4.89" of backspace
Tire hight estimated to be 31.8" and a width of 9.25"
Adding 1.25" spacers should make the backspace 3.64"
I believe backspace of 3.5" to 3.75" works.

For street use I believe this would fit on my uncut 74 bronco with no lift. I also have zero experience in the tire, wheel, clearance, offset, suspension area :)

Tire height might be a little much but I think drivable.

Anyone disagree? (A better question might be, anyone care:)

I suggest you start a new thread for these questions. Not very many people will see it buried in this old thread.

Agreed: To finish let me conclude that the above won't work.
Those tires don't fit an 8" rim.. So the new calc is this..

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO - 245/70R17 will fit an 8" rim = 30.6" inches high
For that tire the Rim width range is 6.5" to 8" with section width of 9.8" on a 7" rim

Assuming a .2" increase for every .5" change in rim width:
I increase the section width by .4" and get 9.8+.4=10.2" section width when put on an 8" rim.

I haven't seen anyone claim they got a tire 10.2 inches wide to fit in an unlifted and uncut bronco.. But I'll search again.

Saw Simon's Bronco at West Coast Customs last week. Dunno if he still owns it, or what they were doing with it at WCC.
