i would have to say that m y install was difficult and involved. for teh reasons that it was the first time i had ever installed one,the custom dash layout& having it all in dash, having to build and modify a number of things. even parts from vintage needed to be modified. things like the 3 groove pulley needed to be remachined to work.
1500 to install one of their underdash off the shelf units sounds a bit steep.

in my set up it did replace the heater box.
the super cooler II set up i used is large and is a challenge to get everything packaged behind the dash.

go for it if you feel up to it, but don't expect to do it quickly.

More pics of the bracket and compressor. Also got a few of the AC unit, I used 1/4" ATR (all threaded rod) screwed into the unit, to mount and to locate the mounting holes and drilled new holes, It's much easier to mount the AC unit using the studs, That way it can be done by yourself. The instructions said to use the existing holes left from the stock defroster/heater but that put the unit close to the panel on the passenger side so I just drilled new holes plus I put the unit a little higher.

probably wont need it in Hawaii except for during the rainy season...

You think you won't need it but you will want it when you don't have it. Ever heard the phrase "98 degrees in the shade"?

nice, mad. i wish i had thought of the all thread idea, that would have made things a lot easier.

i did the kit with the serpentine mount, so i wondered how the V belt mount went on. i'm getting ready to install another one on another bronco.

Here is more pics of what I got done today. It was a late start for me. I got up at noon.

I measured to get a longer belt. On my 1st trip to Checkers (they're the only autoparts store open late on Sunday) The belt I got was too short, after returning the 1st belt for a longer one I tried to install it and it was too long. I couldn't get it tight. Now I'm on the 3rd trip this time I get it right with a belt that's 56" long to work with the pulleys I got.

Sorry, 77BroncoSport

I didn't mean to hyjack your thread.
I'm just posting pics for others to see how simple it is, When I searched for pics or info on the install I couldn't find any.

AC is a must in Nevada! I was wondering, can I use the compressor that came with my 5.0 instead of having to buy the one that comes in the kits?
