This is an Alterstart 160A alternator that I bought new from Alterstart in 2005 for my perma-project. I assure you it has way less than 1000 miles on it. I eventually swapped over to an Explorer serpentine setup so this has just been sitting on a shelf. It comes with the Alterstart wiring pigtail and I will include the required 50A fuse with weather shield which was not included in my original purchase. If you are not familiar with Alterstart, it is company here in the Dallas area that got its start building heavy duty charging system components for service vehicles like police cruisers and ambulances. They branched out into providing upgraded alternators and starters for classic and older cars and trucks. This stuff is manufactured from all new components, not remans.
They manufactured this particular unit specifically for Early Broncos so its case mounts right up in place of the original. It is internally regulated so you can ditch the old, points-style regulator. I think the photos show how little use this thing got. My project has always been garaged and never driven in the rain so this unit has never been wet. I tried to attach the receipt but was unable due to file size. I will provide a copy via email if requested. The receipt says says "LIFETIME WARRANTY." I don't know if that warranty is transferable, but it speaks to the quality of their components. I paid $159.99, I'll take $80 + shipping.
