Picked up new wheel cylinders and brake shoes this afternoon after work. Been noticing a little fluid driping down my right rear wheel. Well got the bronco jacked up and put on stands, took the wheel off, pulled the brake drum and $h*t, thats not brake fluid%) Turns out my axle bearing and seal are out. Parts store is closed and will not be open tomorrow so it will be next weekend untill I have time to replace axle bearings and seals.

Could have prevented all of this if I had crawled my lazy but under the truck and put my finger on the fluid leaking on the tire!

That sucks,
To bad you don't have a 24 hour Autozone near. I have one about 8 blocks away. But you are a little far for me to bring you one.

I have done worse.
Pulled the drum off my trailer (converted pickup bed with surge brakes).
Broken return spring.
Went and got the spring kit.
Decided to take the other side apart first to make sure that I got the new ones right.
That drum had spewed it's guts. adjuster fell out when the drum came off, shoes shot. Every little part was gone.
The spring kit went back to the parts store. I am now working on a cheapie disk brake conversion. I'll loose the parking brake out of it, but it is only a trailer.
