Getting ready to purchase a new wiring harness and trying to decide between the American Autowire and Centech. The AAW from JBG comes with the glovebox and replacement switches and seems to have several other features that Centech lacks. Is the AAW worth the extra $?

Before purchasing any wiring harness the first question is it stock or is it a modified bronco that this harness is going in. If you're going 100% stock then you need to compair apples to apples.

If the AAW is more but comes with glove box and switches, how does the Centech compair if you factor in those missing items?

If your bronco is modified or resto-mod with all the wanted electical upgrade stuff, then I would look at this way. I used the Centech but spent days rewiring for all the changes that I had made, plus adding for the missing upgrades I made. I spent more for a plug and play harness that I could of saved a lot of money if I went with a more universal harness designed to be customized by the owner for his applacation. But a universal harness is not for the first timer.

If you are going modified and you still like the idea of using a plug and play system by one that's not already wraped in tape buy one that's zip tied and opened so its easier to pull wires and make changes. This is a big time saver.

Fifteen years ago when I bought the Centech harness they were the only players in town if you wanted a plug and play system, they stuck there necks out offering a harness for a vehicle that was a limited market. I guest my point that I'am trying to make is there will always be johnies come lately who will tell you there's is better. Again compare apples to apples.

If I was buying new today and know what I know today it would be a flip of the coin.

I recently purchased a centech harness, plus a glove box, plus a new ignition switch. Electrical wise my bronco is pretty stock so it was a good fit for what I needed. I would buy the centech again if i had to do it all over again.

American Auto Wire is a great company to deal with and I have looked at this kit and it seems very simply and great quality, just like all there other kits. I have seen on here some guys talking about the kit and none of them had a bad thing to say about the kit.

I have installed (3) Centec harnesses. They are very good for a stock system, easily installed too. But I was just at Bronco Graveyard on Thursday and held the new AAW harness in my hand. All I can say it "WOW" it is a very nice harness. It has all the features that are lacking in the Centec. Jeff personally helped AAW create this harness. My next wire harness will defiantly be the AAW.

I have heard that only Painless uses the original/stock Ford wire colors. All others actually use the more common GM wire colors. I think I was told they use the GM colors because it's cheaper somehow.
I guess the Ford colors would make a more exact stocker and maybe easier to track down a wire in the future by using a stock Ford schematic. I think for most of us that probably wouldn't matter.

If your not doing a concourse restoration you cant beat the EZ Wiring harness or they also go by the name It's A Snap for price and quality.

They sell for like $160 bucks and uses high quality GXL color coded and labeled wire.

I put one in my Jeep and like it. I cut and re-pinned all the OEM connectors.

When I did my Centech it didn't come with any of the lighting pigtails. From what I have seen of the AWW it has everything.

Went with the Centech on mine but that was the only option at the time. I like the harness and everything seems to work ok. However, I am gonna have to add a new fuse panel to it for the additional creature comforts that I will be installing this year.

I just finished the majority of my AAW harness. I don't know what centech has, but I hate electrical and this has been pretty easy to install. I vote for the AAW. I'll be doing a write up in the forum here soon.

I appreciate all if the feedback. After reading here and talking to others, I think I'm going with the AAW.
