Amp Research power steps mod question

I'm getting old and like the idea of the power steps. My issue is the cage is tied into the frame and I have only about 20" for the motors and steps to retract. I was looking at this adapter by NECFP.
https://northeastclassicfordparts.c...73-1974-1975-1976-1977-early-ford-bronco.html

I was thinking I could weld new studs closer together for the motors and cut the steps down to size. Amp told me the steps can be cut to size. So for you guys with these steps do you see any reason this won't work. Something I might be missing? I'm not thrilled to drop this kinda $$ being uncertain.

Thanks....

So, the "correct" kit is Amp Research Power Step #75104-01A??? Then just cut the steps to size and pop the end cap(s) back on the step?
Thanks

Why would it matter which Amp Research set you use? You have to cut them down regardless.

Are there any fundamental differences it the step motors, mounting holes, or other features?

Does the mount from Northeast work with aux tank?

You aren't going to be plugging into any OEM connectors - so seems like you find the lowest priced (and shipping) among the various model numbers and go with it.

What am I missing in which setup to pick?

Has to be the F250 steps that nick suggests. The rest have motors that mount differently.

did back and forth emails with AMP about the small power ICON steps they make. I was told they were special made for ICON and couldn't sell them to the public and they had no idea if ICON would sell them. They also said the wiring was specially designed to tie into ICON's harness.

Icon uses 75107-01A, which is one of the few applications that bolts to the frame. They must fabricate a mount. In some of their older builds you can see they used 75104-01A. Which bolts to the inner rocker.

75104-01A is the same model that BC broncos, Nicks Trixs and Nick Rocci etc...use in their builds. I was going to go a small step, but Nick Rocci and Nick from Nicks Trixs talked me out of it. I like Nick Rocci's mounts a lot. Makes it clean and simple and a 38" step, so people can get in the back easily.

Any idea on the right override switch?

79106-01A Says it fits the new 8 or 9 pin connector and is about $40
79105 is about $130 refers to a STA controller.

I don't find enough about the controller on the 75104 board set to know which one is compatible.

Sorry I'm a little confused. What are you asking? Trigger switch? Door trigger?

You will need the 79105-01. It replaces the controller that the kit comes with. The cost is an extra 129.00. I will have a three way switch that resembles the original ford toggle switch which will replace my gas tank switch. This switch allows to override to either keep the steps retracted, keep the steps extended or have them working when the switch is triggered.
