Sorry for the redundancy guys, as i know these questions have came up in the past, but Im about to lift my 68 and was wondering about a couple of things.

1. I am planning on a 3.5SL and running 35s under it. Ive noticed several have this combo but a lot have 1,2, or 3 in BL also. Is it strictly cosmetic or is it a clerance or technical issue?

2. Wheel Size. I have 15" wheels now and unsure wheather to use them on the new tires or bump up to 17s. Is there any advantages or disadvantages either way?

Thanks for any info in adnance

It's a clearance issue. I ran a 2 1/2" SL with a 2" BL, and the rear tires would hit the front of the inner wheel well on full stuff. I could have installed larger bump stops in the rear to limit the stuff, but what fun is that??!!

I'd suggest a 2" BL along with that, but of course, it all depends on how handy you are with a sawzall and BFH.

35 x 15" tire choices are getting smaller, and the tires are getting more expensive. Do some shopping and find out what's available.

if you cut your fenders back enough you wont need a body lift, but chances are your stock body bushings are totally rusted and shot anyway. 3.5 sl and 1" body is pretty standard mild lift with 35" tires. There's a lot more options with 17's or 18's than 15's, especially out on the road, or traveling out of the area, in an emergency.
