Thanks for all the support guys! I still freeze up when I look at the pictures of my truck, I never expected the damage to be as bad as it was. This is definitely not the end of the road.

Texastreasures, thank you for the offer but at the moment, I'm still throwing ideas around. If she doesn't stay with me, you will be the first person I call.

Currently I'm trying to find a place to store her. I'm leaning on my dad to let me keep it in their garage, but so far no luck there. I havent had a chance to see if my boss will let me store it at his warehouse with his cars. I'm trying to get my buddy to go with me so he can climb up under my rig and see what all is bent and how bad things got moved around, since theres no way in hell I can crawl around under there right now. I don't think I took any pictures, but the c4 was touching the passenger frame rail and the frame is noticeably bent.

CoachBarnes, you got a keeper there. (How's the progress on the racer goin? If y'all need any extra pit crew guys this november, gimme a holler, I should be fixed by then ;D ) My girlfriend has been very supportive as well about trying to rebuild her. She was upset when she heard about the wreck, not just about me, but the truck too.

Skiddy, the flares are the old school screw in fiberglass ones.

WOW!! Brian, you weren't kidding in your e-mail were you...
Glad you're ok (relatively speaking anyways)
You have a good pile of spare parts to do start your new build,
just as almost any of us would do!

speedy recovery to you,
Drew

Receipts can also be useful when dealing with an insurance company. Last year someone turned left in front of my wife in her 8 year old minivan. Minimal visible damage but the insurance company wanted to total it. We had just replaced the tires and the transmission was about a year and half old. I sent in both receipts to the insurance company and ended up getting the value of the van plus full reimbursement for the tires and 75% of the tranny. All in all we got nearly $9,000 for a vehicle that would have only sold for about half that (IE it had 100k miles and my 3 kids were not kind to the interior over the years). My kids actually celebrated when they heard it was being totalled (as two of them are now driving age and the thought of being seen in or driving a minivan is a fate worse than death).

Bottom line: Keep your receipts and negotiate. Good to hear you are okay, and I hope there is nothing to that "jinx of the yellow bronco" thing someone mentioned in an earlier post (I drive a yellow bronco).

no jinx just an observation sorry

Sorry about the yellow bronco thing guess I shouldve kept it to myself. I can still visualize the yellow rollover bronco in the impound yard post in Georgia about 4 monthes ago. I tell yall everyday I revisit this post and it still gives me chills. I drive my bronco at least 3 times a week in traffic on the highways and now more then ever worry about it just getting away from me. guess its good to open your eyes sometimes and think about what could happen and this post has definatly done that for me. Thanks Brian and I know a few days have passed now and I hope your feeling better.

While talking with an officer earlier today while he was trying to help me search for my rig, he told me that he personally had worked 3 fatal accidents on the same strecth of road as mine in the last week. The city is supposedly doing testing on the roads in the area, as many motorists have complained of the road being very slick after rain and I was told that officers have even complained of slipping and sliding on the road during these recent investigations.QUOTE]

Glad to see your not seriously injured! Did ya have your seat belt on?

Your statment above...I'd go see a GOOD lawyer, you just might have a case! $$$$

Hey Brett, I'm over on the westside of town, this accident happened on Eldridge between I-10 and Clay Rd. at the Patterson Rd. turn off (on the left if going sorth, right if going south, it cuts over to hwy 6) anyways, it happened at around 5:45 while I was headed south, it had been raining for about 5 minutes, those big fat rain drops we get here, I hit the wrong spot at the right time and that was it. Since my wreck there have been two more fatal wrecks on that same bend, one happening the night after mine. I'm back to about 90% or so, still having some pains where the fractures were, but I'm not complaining, it could have been much, much worse. Mind you, I have been driving this stretch of road for years, and until recently hadnt heard or seen any fatal accidents (did see a viper that was drag racing slide out and slam into the barrier once;D ) Thanks and be safe!

-----wow --- I didn't realize it happen there -- I'm right down the road at clay & blalock/fairbanks & have been down patterson rd. a million times-- even though it's part of bear creek park that road has always been spokey with the old blue light cemetary in the woods near it,,atleast when intoxicated teenagers are around ---back when I was a kid it was much less populated in the area & you were basically out in the country around there,,, now there are thousands & thousands from eldridge all the way out to katy

I'm only 24 and I can remember when no one drove that stretch of eldrige. I've spent alot of time in that area in general and never had any problems till this one. I've driven past the site and you can see my skid marks from my truck sliding. Gotta love those blue lights;D

Yes I just could not imagine seeing some junk yard score all them parts. After all I can Fix it. lol
Thanks Brian for keeping it here in our Bronco Community. The Disc Brakes are going to work just fine on my 74 and I think the Bronco Gods spared the Auto Tranny so I could add it to my stash. After all that she still has a pulse runs pretty good. It wasnt my first choice to put it in the garage but the neighbors were rubbernecking like the accident just happened. Im glad you are ok. let me know when you are ready to get back into a bronco I will help you find a farm fresh one. Lets hope my 74 dont look like yours when I get back from OCBR Sunday. My 6 year old son says it looks more crashed then in the pictures.
he also says we should fix it. Sorry son not this one were just gonna breed her one last time and let her go..
