...there's no substitute for the look on the driver's face when you pull up by one of those smart car scooter thingys - I'm running rich and my exhaust is just about window high to one of them things. ;D

Love it! :)

BRONCOchild,
Don't give up on Bertha!
One thing my father told me was "don't buy a car you don't love." It could be the world's best but it feels like it's always breaking down. On the other hand if you love a car, you will be willing to put up with a lot of problems. Could your problem be a lack of love?%)
BTW I keep a pack of those clips as well as a spare window roller in the glove box at all times. I've been stuck on too many outings where the doors, windows, and hatch wouldn't work.

No matter what these truck seem to know when and where to leave you in frustration. Wednesday my wife called and said she had just be side swipped in her mercedes and to come bring the camera to the scene. Now I have just gotten the EB up and running after a 9 year build. Has been starting, and running fine aside from a few expected issues. Well hop in the truck camera in hand and hit the switch. Nothing. Dead as a hammer. Just drove the day before. Had to use the battery charge to jump it. Frustation but no matter, got lots of looks and nods as I pull up to the accident.

***Update***

I fixed the door. It was a task and a half to get the aftermarket clip to clip onto the door rods, but I got it on there. I washed her up and drove her the whole weekend.

As I drove her around, my fiance and I drove it to the movies and we got alot of compliments on the rig. It's a love hate relationship-it's true!!

Come Friday morning, I decided to give my '07 F150 a break and left it parked at home. Looked at "Bertha" in the chili southern California morning. I told her..."hi stranger. don't leave me stranded anywhere today!" I started her up. My skin got goose-bumps. It could of been from the sound of the exhaust pumping out...or it could of been that "Bertha" is like an ice-box.

Drove her to work and all my fellow colleagues commented on how much they missed seeing my EB parked in the parking lot. "Bertha" acts like the person that greets you at Wal-Mart, since she is parked at the entrance to the building. It felt good to know that my truck has gotten a reputation with folks. LOL..the Administrator even asked me if I'd like to use "Bertha" in our school games as the official school vehicle "mascot".

Let's just say..."Bertha" has gotten a reprieve from being posted on Craigslist this month. ;D

The door clips are a breeze if your window tracks are already out...however this is usually not the case :(

I've had zip tied latch rod and lock rod for a good 5 months now with no problems. Just depends on the thickness and tightness of the cable you tie it with.

As for stealing it...modern theives are too dumb to understand why the truck with the 'automatic' column shifter has a clutch pedal too...hehe ;D
