Buddy is welding up holes in fender, do I keep stock antenna or go another route. I will have a/c so not sure of room in that area. Radio will most likely be in console under dash.

See if you can get jon to post up a pic of his. It mounts on the side of the windshield frame. Its looks great. I think he said it's from a Mitsubishi.

When I removed the fender antenna from my old 67 mustang I installed one like this at the top of the windshield.

I've installed 2 similar to this one. They worked OK - definitely good enough for my needs. But I mainly Bluetooth my phone or iPod. If you're an audiophile you will be disappointed. A lot will depend on the radio stations in your area - their power and distance to you.

I do like the no external antenna look.

The OE antenna is a distinctive EB only item that works perfectly and retracts out of harm's way. If you have to change virtually everything you may want to change trucks.

Not gonna change trucks, but thanks for your input.

Below are pics of mine. SACHEM also wrote a good tech article about it a while back. His was from an Isuzu Trooper, but basically identical to mine.

If the completely hidden antennas work I would probably go that route, but if you want an external antenna the Trooper version works well and I've never had it catch on trees or brush while wheeling.

Bullseye Jon! Looks great! The downside of the hidden antenna seems to be reception and getting the smart part 2" away from any metal. I ee your base mount is chrome and SACHEM's (nice tech article, btw) is black. How did you get chrome? Thanks a lot! Howard in beautiful West Michigan

I think SACHEM's is just missing the chrome cap.

Here are some sources to buy the chrome one. It's been so long I really don't remember where I got mine.

I too, think the antenna is one of the iconic features of an early Bronco. However, when the rig is leaning towards a modified, custom Bronco, I agree the antenna should go away.
