I got the majority of the stuff off and started putting the pinion assembly together. In the process of trying to get the preload right I think I over torqued the pinion nut and squashed some threads on the pinion. I can't get the pinion nut to thread back on now after a couple turns. I'm really nervous about forcing it and ruining it. Really sucks cause I was making great progress and almost had it. I just had like 200 inch/pounds on the preload and was taking it apart again to add a couple shims to the solid spacer. Maybe I over torqued it and that's why the preload was so high. Who knows. This is what I get trying to do stuff for the first time without a pro to help I guess. No clue what I'm going to do now.
