Anyone have any info on this repair shop in So Cal?

Found a listing on CL for a repair shop near me that says they do work on early Broncos, body and mechanical. The name of the business is OC (Orange Co.) Vintage Mustang. The guy's name is Eric. They have several photos of Broncos in the ad. Appreciate hearing from anyone who has used them in the past. Thanks.

I live in orange but never have heard of them. But that doesn’t mean anything
I would talk to the OC mustang club and get some feed back

Likely transmission problem, 3 speed manual. Yes, mustang club would be good. I couldn't find anything on-line about them. I'm a little dubious of just a CL ad. I put in a call, left a message and, so far, no response. I know I could take it out, but I'm not in the "mood" to do that right now. Just want to get it fixed. Don't know if I should trust a "typical" transmission shop.

Guys name is Derrick Koerner. He's in HB. Swapped my engine and transmission for me. Does great work, not expensive. He posts on CL when he gets space for more rigs. He's legit.

HB73,
Thanks. Got a phone number? I can't find him in Google. If it is a chipped tooth, may have to source a new (used) tranny. I don't think they make the gear sets any more. Maybe he has a donor tranny available.

By the 1st post I'm guessing you're in Oct. Up here in south bay area I've used hiros transmission in the torrance/gardena area.

Thanks for the number. BTW, I've used Westminster Transmissions many years ago. They did a good job, but I was thinking that I should find someone who has experience with these older vehicles. Maybe I'm being too "conservative".

I’ve got an unknown used 3-speed trans that came on a d20 I got a little while ago as well as one that we pulled out of our driver to convert to a c4. I’m by lax. Let me know if you’d be interested!

Jfryjfry,
Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that. Have you ever had the cover off and looked at the condition of either one?

For some reason I think I might have had the cover off of the good one when I was swapping it to the other transfer case. If I did, I obviously didn’t see anything concerning but I wasn’t looking for anything either as it seemed to drive fine.

HB73,
It turns out that the guy I'm talking about, in this post, name is Derrick, not Eric. I didn't hear the name correctly the first time. He called me back a couple days ago. Since he is good (legit!), I think I'll source a rebuilt 3 speed tranny and take it to him. He suggested that I replace it with a more modern tranny (5 speed with overdrive), but while I would like that, I really don't want to dump several thousand dollars into it. The 3 speed meets my needs and is, typically, reliable. Also, it turns out that I think I have a RAN model 3 speed instead of the RAT model that I'm supposed to have. I don't think there is much difference except that 1st gear is lower on the RAT and I think I would like that.
