Wow. Just wow. I haven't been on this site for a while now, and it's sort of coming back to me as to why.

Seriously, neon lights are especially lame under anything you put them under. They are also illegal in CA, so it's a good way to get yourself pulled over. I'm not sure what technical value this would even have, but I'm not the administrator.

Personally I'd stick with the trucker lights and stay away from the ebay stuff. The trucker stuff will be a few dollars more but it's really a much better quality product. Those things are designed to work on vehicles for a lifetime. The lightweight flexible strips like you posted... Who knows? It's worth a try, and I suppose if you go into things expecting them to fail after a few months, then you won't be disappointed if they last longer.

Cut a brother some slack, I did some things back in the day that I probably wouldn't do now. Like trade my first EB(rust free) for a mustang, the list is endless.............................;D

Just what the world needs is more MF "LOOK AT ME "lights and fart can mufflers that do NOTHING, eeeeeh Hah.Hey I got one, how about going to The Kenworth plant and gettin one of those 4 foot wide stainless steel air deflectors, that should really get em to look at ya after you mount it on top of the roll cage. When I want to bling up my 68 , I get a couple of skunk air fresheners and it really excites all the Coin operated beavers at the Rear jammer

I just taped some purple LED christmas lights to the inside of the frame rails along with a small 120VAC module to power. Looks good, should last, and if no one gripes and I like them by this summer maybe I'll screw them in...

Who cares? Do it if it gets your panties all bound up. For that matter, install a body kit. I could care less as long as you don't live next door to me.

If you really wanna do this, then couldn't you use some lights with changable lenses that may throw more light than the neons? Like trailer brake lights for red, markers for yellow, ect.

Who cares what someone else mounts on their Bronco. The first person to cut and flare an EB would probably been flamed on this site if it existed at the time.

Personally I am installing a full bar in the back with a blender and little drink umbrella dispenser. Would you like a slice of Mango with that? :)

I've missed 76BFH's insights, they are usually very direct and funny as hell.
I have to agree with him on this one.

To each their own. If you want to do it, go for it. Just don't get too upset when we snicker at you as you drive by.

I always thought this site was pretty open-minded.

I could've been wrong.

Most of "the site" just keeps their thoughts to themselves.

76BFH doesn't suffer from this problem, however. ;D ;D

First off, not all of us live in Kommifornia. The OP is from Alabama where Police look the other way for pretty much anything as long as you're not walking down the street in womens underwear.

Secondly, the OP was curious as to how hard they were to install and if there were any issues. Sounds like a technical question to me.

One of the main reasons I love this site is because we can discuss most anything. Someone can bring new ideas to the table without the fear of being flamed to death. That is the reason most of you guys came over here from Pirate, right? My point is let the man do what he wishes with his truck, because it is, in fact, his truck...not yours.

I certainly understand the sensitive subject and I agree with most of the flamers, however, I have seen LED rock lights that worked extremely well and looked rather good. I think the neons have a stigma that will never be shaken. Put some LEDs in that will can be used as rock lights and turn them on if you want to cruise. If it were going to be me, I'd probably go on the cheap and buy individual LEDs from partsexpress.com and do a custom install. Every little wannabe ricer puts some prefab crap made by a 12 year old in china on their car. Put some effort into it and you won't get much flack. It was more a matter of "putting neons on" when it would have been much more accepted to say "what do you think of my rock lights idea?"

I think it could look really good, but then it could also look like a 16 year old f@g in a ricer.

I'm glad at least some of you missed my commentary.

If his purpose was for rock-lights I would not have bashed the idea, although neon fluorescent lights are pretty susceptible to damage in comparison with LEDs or even tractor lights, so I would have advised against them. That said, the OP wanted to look for ricer-esque lights which I will stand by, are incredibly lame.

I don't get the Pirate bashing here either. Pirate doesn't tolerate laziness (in reference to searching) or stupidity - which incidentally are two things I'm also intolerant of. This site has some great tech, among the best for Ford-related stuff, but every now and then someone comes up and reminds us that we need to thin the herd.
