My ARB D44 is leaking at the bulkhead on the housing. I popped the cover and the copper line is not connected at all. in the diagram I see that the copper line #8 is pulling through the fitting #7. There is a small rubber o-ring that seals it but what secures the copper line from pulling through?

The o-ring is supposed to be compressed by the fitting that goes on top of it which swells the o-ring in to the copper line. Note I say "supposed to". I have only dealt with 1 ARB, and this area is the least impressive area of the whole thing.

On the one I worked on I got a rubber vacuum cap with an ID about the same as the copper line and would also fit in to the area where the o-ring went. I cut a 3/16 or so piece of the vacuum cap so I ended up with a rubber cylinder. I installed that in place of the o-ring. This made it so the fitting would compress the rubber cylinder enough to grab the copper line quite firmly.

My buddy has not had a problem with that since.

The copper line should be bent into place so that it is not pulling or pushing through the bulkhead. There should be no reason for it to move because it is rigid.
