ARB cycling...

My dual ARB compressor cycles on/off w/o turning lockers or my horn. So a leak. :) My York would last 48 hrs.

I spend 2 hrs checking every fitting, all welds on my bumper (storage) and did it several times with a soap solution and a gas detection liquid thinking I must have missed the leak...

The compressor 2 yrs ago would last all day and then the next morning when I started up it would charge the system from some slow leak I assumed.

Last fall it would take about 2 hrs and it would have to cycle on to charge the sytem.

Now it takes about 15 min.

Well, I finally disconnected the air line at the first junction block after it leaves the compressor and it is appr. 12" from the compressor and I have appr 18" of braided air line connected to it.

So, ARB, 18" of braided hose and then the junction block.

Turn ARB compressor on and it charges the 18" of line and in 8 sec it cycles back on again.

My question after all this is does the Dual ARB compressor have a built in check valve to keep it from back bleeding air? I put new cylinders and all new guts in this one but don't remember one...

I know there's a couple O rings that when they go bad can be a leak source but they haven't been touched in two yrs...

I'm about fixing this and going back to my York, buy the NAPA one everyone keeps talking about and move on...

What I recall is the check valve is the valve in the compressor. The compressor discharge into a common chamber that has the pressure switch. And that is open to the discharge port.
If you put a check valve on the ARB discharge port you would have to move the pressure switch to after the check valve.
