Are 6 cyl and 8 cyl wire harnesses the same?

I have a 6 cyl truck and am installing a V8. Can I use the existing dash and engine harness?

The engine harness is probably different due to the locations of everything it connects to. All the other wiring is the same.

Don't know of any difference in the dash. Engine is different, the 3 wires are different lengths. Yea, not much to that engine harness with all 3 wires in it. Lets see, one goes to the positive side of the coil, another to the temps sender, and the third to the oil pressure sender. Not much to really worry about.

The alternator harness is also a different length if I recall correctly.

Hi, X2. Mark the wires for each part and reconnect them to the same parts. Coil, senders, alternator. Good luck

I installed a Centech in my 73 and do not recall any options when ordering for different engine options. One size fits all. The new harness wires are sufficiently long for just about any application and for what is connected to the engine itself, most of those parts are the same or similar spec and location to the 302
