I just had mine painted bw green and it looks like your paint stick. Maybe 40 yr old green looks lighter from age

I can't say there were NOT different versions over the years with any authority. My mind tells me that from the factory they were all the same shade, but with later re-sprays, the relative shade of Green varies quite widely.
Maybe it just happens to be a mix of colors that is extremely sensitive to how it's mixed? Don't know anything about paints, but it's definitely a color with variations.

And now you can add the Fiat Green to the mix, which is almost a dead-nuts match to some shades of Boxwood.

Meant to add that there are at least a couple of professional painters in our midst here, so maybe they'll see this and sign in to comment.

Ford used at least four different paint suppliers over the years.

It would be more surprising if all the paint looked the same.

I've got a '69 Ford product that came from the factory Acapulco Blue. During the 20 years or so that it sat in my garage (awaiting the time in my life I would have enough money to have it restored properly) I looked at many cars painted Acapulco Blue. Should I say supposed to be painted that color. They were all over the chart! Many were way too dark. I even at times considered another color. Knew I found the right guy for my restoration when I mentioned my concern about color and he was just as annoyed as me over all the cars out there that were not correct!

So my guess is Boxwood Green may be same situation. Just be sure the painter knows one of your big concerns is that it be the correct shade.

Thanks all! ared77 I am going to painting it. It will be my first time but I'm confident I have the right tools and help from friends. After letting the paint dry and I put some clear coat the color looks much better in the sun light. It's a little darker than I was hoping but close enough that I will use it.

I've seen several different shades that were called boxwood green. It was after looking at color books that I decided to get my own custom mix to get the results I wanted. Take your time painting it and enjoy the process.
