Man, I like the bumper and I wish I had you time and dedication. I've got too many things/people grabbing for my attention to get more than 4 hours straight on one of my trucks.

A couple pictures of the dash mods. My brother was busting out this stuff, unfortunately, he had to go back to work, since I don't pay very well...:-[

Tomorrow I will start to finish up the dash, as the new electronic cluster will be here later this week.

I got the hydraulic motor fixed and bender is back up and running. I also received my twinsticks, digital cluster, master cylinder, and more so I have plenty of work to do.

Here you go. Somehow a piece of cardboard ended up on the data plate...;)

So how much are you going to charge me to make me a front bumper like that? ;D

You haven't seen how badly I screw it up in the last bit! You might want to hold out to see if it can even hold up the winch!

I welded up the top seam yesterday along with some more dash work, today I'm going to install the bottom plates and hopefully bend up a small lightbar/braces (ie stinger) for the front.

I would settle for getting the thing running right this minute. I'm impressed with the work you're doing.

If you keep this thing OD green, you need to throw those plates back in there too.

This is actually the first concrete evidence I have seen regarding the military use of Broncos. I have heard stories and seen grainy, UFO like photos, but never a data plate.

A couple more military indicators:

I will be reapplying this notice when I repaint.

I am having a new warranty decal made, and I customized my dash, but left the original location for the plate. They are too cool to be tossed.

The color will be staying the original green. I really like it. ;D

Today I got a little work done on the front bumper.

Wow!

Just saw this build! Wouldn't it be cool if your Bronco from Elmendorf is the same one that is in this picture I have of the old Base Wildlife Bronco! The photo was taken in '74 and looks like the Bronco has a few years on it.
I've got a much bigger photo if you want it.

That's a great photo. Mine has a white top on it, but other pictures I have are of it without a top, so I don't know. It does have the mounting holes where those side mirrors were mounted though...

Please send me the picture!

On a side note, I sold my other house and have been busy on that getting it ready for sale, so until it is sold at the end of the month, I have been only getting a bit of time here and there on ARMY GREEN.

Fairbanks. We make it down to Eagle River a couple times a year to see wifey's family.

Hey there, Ak Wheeler. Give me a call if you need a hand ever. Pm me for the #. I live here in Fairbanks, if I'm in town I'd like to meet up anyway.

This thread title is so embarrasing. Life got very busy and I put ARMY GREEN on the back burner to get some other things accomplished.

I am now back working on it and had this thread resurrected from the grave. With a week of leave devoted to getting some work done on the EB and the Syclone, there should finally be some progress made worth posting. Since I last posted, I have gotten a few things done:

I have installed the front and rear shock mounts.

Last Christmas, I was in Monterey and made a quick trip up to Stockton to pick up a few goodies for the rig:

Wild Horses had Mastercraft build me some custom seats using their military spec OD fabric. These turned out so very nice!

I also purchased the rest of the interior pieces like the painless wiring harness, the new dash (center mounted gauge), carpet, headliner and things like that. I also picked up one of the new gauges, since I am not a big fan of digital:

Last week my brother and I pulled ARMY GREEN back next to the garage and proceeded to build the rollcage. I can't stand to see the A Pillars in front of the dash, especially when the dash is so easy to work around. The corners of the dash are going to be reattached.

I am picking up some more DOM for the X bracing on the top and to redo the door bars since the straight bar, although plenty stout, looks "cheap"

I am doing a few modifications to the 302 before installing it. A 347 stroker kit with some aluminum heads (I donated the 351W heads I built to my brother's EB!) should spice it up some. I also need to build the AOD/4R70W that I have collected the pieces for (2 years ago). Engine, tranny and t-case (donated my rebuilt t-case to the other EB as well) will get done on my next week off (end of the month).

Where did you get your new dash from?

BC Broncos. It is a really nice dash, heavy duty and without that funky edge of the stock piece. I may still use the stock one I rearranged though I am not 100% sure I like the gauge pod in the very center of the dash.
