Has anyone bought one of the 2100 knockoffs being sold on e-bay? Just can't believe a new 2100 for under $100. That's not much more than the price of a quality rebuild kit. I'm sure I know where it comrs from, just curious if anyone tried one out.

Never done it personally, but the Internet forums are full of complaints. Almost universally in fact!
Incorrect fitments, never quite able to tune out glitches, things like that.

The earlier 2100 you’re asking about is probably simpler and has fewer linkage and hose fitting problems than a later 2150 perhaps, because there were simply fewer of them on the carburetor. But if, for example, they sell you a carburetor that was designed for a 76, for your 70 model (or vice versa) you’re the one that’s gonna have to figure out where everything goes.
Or if it will work at all.

What year is your carburetor that you’re replacing?
I’ll make sure that the Venturi size that’s usually stamped in the side flange is the same as what you’re replacing. Or at least it was on originals.

But I guess the best piece of advice I could give, would be to never, ever, return your old carburetor for a core. Not until you verified that the new carburetor is going to work that is.

Buy the right part first once, instead of crap twice. Stick with a real 2100. Internet shows numerous notable carb rebuilders.

I bought a used 2100 from a '72, rebuilt it with the full monty from Mike's Carbs, and converted the hot air choke to full electric. Stuck it on the 289 in my '69 EB, and it runs great. There are plenty of rebuildable 2100s out there if you look. But as @DirtDonk mentioned, make sure you get one with the right size venturies - most (if not all) Bronco carbs had 1.08".

All the new 2100-2150s are Chinese junk. A rebuilt Autolite 2100 will cost more but it works.

I am never "controversial" on the internet. I will say I just literally did this and bought an Amazon carb. I had a somewhat decent 2100, but it had some issues. I was online and thought WTH and ordered it. $78 to my door. I had to make some low level adjustments.

It is been on there about a month. So far so good.
