Thanks guys.

Theres a lot of factors that effect cost. it all depends on what you get the donor parts for and what t case you go with.
While I havent installed mine yet I got the ZF for $200 and that was with a t case(cant use it in EB though). I didnt get the MC or hydraulic line though. Now I either have to bolt a NP205 to it or buy a adapter for the D20. As it sits now I'm figure total cost somewhere around $700 or less for me. Others can barely get the tranny alone for that.

Thanks guys. I am leaning towards the NV3550, but the cost is pretty high. I don't wheel heavily, just use 4wheel if I need it. The granny in the ZF is probably overkill for my use, but I thought the money saved could go into something else. Just exploring options.

Arn't you already running an aod? What don't you like about it? As to the zf paid 800 for tranny, shifter, master cylinder and slave and pressure line. i believe about 450 for the d20 adapter. everything else i fabed myself at the time. There was no kits back then. another 120 or so for driveshaft modifications.

Amac, how you doing man? I do have an aod, and she is not in good shape. Every time I go up in the hills it gets stuck in second, wont shift. A few days later she shifts fine. Around town it is fine, any hill will get her all screwed up. Long story to say I just want to have it go where I want and have confidence in it. I am going to also talk to a tranny shop to see if they have any ideas on whats wrong with it, but a manual seems more dependable for the long run.
