From my understanding the truck megashifter is nothing more then a tall base so the shifter isn't so close to the floor. Find the measurements and mock them up out of old cardboard and see which one fits your vehicle better. The seats in the Bronco sit close to the floor, unlike most trucks. You may find the normal shifter more to your liking.

That's the basic difference. One is taller is all. Personally I like it taller but I perfer to have the shifter within comfortable reach even if I'm strapped into the seat with my harness. Others put aesthetics first though and tuck the shifter up further forward where it leaves more room for a console but also needs to be shorter to keep it away from the dash. Either one could be modified to be taller or shorter but the shorter one would be harder to make look right once it's raised. The pictures below should give you an idea of how the truck megashifter sits when it is mounted right between the seats. The first 2 are approx. where mine sits now. The third one is more current and was taken after I reworked it to drop the seats closer to the floor.

$50 Mega shifter

I've got a Megashifter minus shift cable that came out of my Bronco when I switched to the AOD.
$50 to a good home.

Tim

I was stationed at Ft. Richardson, AK near Anchorage for couple of years. Trained pretty often at Wainwright, sure do miss Alaska.
