The Bronco was just primed first coat yesterday and they're off all next week. I went to the paint store and picked up a small bottle of my color choice (it's $1350/gal, yikes!), took it home, and shot it with a touch-up gun on a piece of scrap. I want to make sure this is it before they shoot the whole truck. It's a thin 2 coats because I only had a sample bottle, and I didn't reduce the clear coat so there's a little orange peel, but I'm pretty happy with the color - 2001 Dodge Prowler Flame Orange pearl. Not as outlandish as their mango tango on the newer jeeps/rams/challengers, looks almost the original ginger color in indirect light (my goal), but comes alive with depth in the sun. Seems to have a black pigment that won't blend in, causing a look like sand grains with shadows giving it the depth.

Thanks! I know some of this stuff is probably silly, but when I was light years behind it was motivating to read other builds ahead of me as they just did as much as they could when they could. I was living through them. I'm trying to pay it forward.

The top will be Wimbledon White, a nod to the classic look. I've seen a lot of Bronco's with similar burnt orange color and they all seem to go with a black top. While I think that's a good choice too, I live in Arizona and white reflects better, plus I have a buddy with a Mango Tango Jeep and a Black top, and he told me all the Jeeps have black tops. It's bad enough people call our beloved Broncos "Jeeps". No need to camouflage it to make it look MORE like a Jeep. Grill will be the original argent silver.

It's PPG Deltron. I think the problem is the components vs a single pigment. The shop that's doing the work is working on a 57 Nomad with a similar color. He said it was $2500/gal. Beautiful car. Stunning color. I'd be afraid to drive it anywhere. I'll see if I can get a picture next time I'm there.

Coming along slowly. A minor bodywork problem uncovered after they painted which will require a correction, but I might get it back by the end of the month.

Coming along. I asked for argent silver for the grill but they painted it a greyish color claiming it was the silver. I actually like it better. Now it's making me want to paint the dash, bumpers and fender flairs the same color, and maybe do a grey interior instead of darker tan. But I'm going to wait until the body is all back together to decide. Then I can shoot some pictures and use photoshop to try different colors.

Yeah, I was going to do the bumpers in black, but then thought grey after I saw the grill. But I googled a bunch of orangeish Broncos with grey/silver bumpers and decided to leave them black. As for the dash, I was saved by another thread on dashes which reminded me of ObscureMachine's so I'm leaving it body color too. Always stick with your initial ideas.

I actually have the same Nick's Trix column bezel and was going to fill it in with dash color too, but now I'm going to use black just like the dash below, although I'll glass bead it to give it a finish similar to the gauge rings and A/C vents.

Now I'm thinking of leaving the "FORD" red letters off the grill. But that's an easy decision for later since I haven't drilled the holes for them yet. The Bronco in the picture is the same color and I kind of like it without the letters.

Decided on Ford Performance White for the top. Since the Body color was updated with a nod to the original Ginger, I decided Wimbledon white looked too creamy. So it's updated with a nod to the original scheme. I know black is a popular top color for this type of "burnt orange", but this is Arizona and it gets hot. Don't need to add to the heat, and I think it looks fantastic.
