I was thinking of doing something similar to you. The wild horses round up is this Saturday, and my kid wants me to drive our bronco up. About 4 hours of drive time(probably 5 hrs in the bronco).
I've already decided to take the wifes Chevy traverse.

I don't have doors or a top on it, and thats a long drive with a 4 speed and shitty stereo.

But think of the memories you would make with your kid!! ;D

I say go for it.
