That one was on ebay recently for a $55k buy-it-now, I think, and got bid to $43k at one point too. The guy should've taken his money and run! Will be curious to see how it does on BaT.

Holy Smokes! This one bid to $54k, didn't sell!?! I have its twin, except it is a '77. If someone offered me $54k for mine, it would be down the road!

I'd even take the top off for pictures and shift it into 4WD if I could get that much!

Looks like one of the bidders answered my question with a comment after the auction:

I don't know what a Chelsea boot is, but the comment above makes me ill....

I had to look it up. It appears the bidder was wanting it for a fashion statement.

"Fashion statement" can include ur vehicle, politics ('blk lives matter' poster on the lawn w/out a change of life style), job, home furnishings, hair cut, clothing, etc. Choice, culture, income all go into it. This is a corporate culture (global village, multi-nationals, 1% w/power/$, etc) so there is some choice. Enuff spare wage that the corps come calling w/goods folks might buy rather than 3rd world where there's less choice. One item - take it or leave it (got the $ - buy, no $ - go w/o).

On that truck I was disappointed to learn that the big-$$ Classic Instruments cluster didn't work and the Protofab rear bumper seemed to have a nasty rear-lean on it.
