BaT has finally caved to absolute junk. I remember the days they would not sell vehicles for not meeting their specifications.

Here we see another pile. with a "302 stroker". I guess BaT will literally list anything with any description. The site has kind of gone to sh!t

Hate to pile on, but BAT obviously doesn’t know anything about the vehicle. 8-hole 15” wheels? Who cares how many holes the rims have? It’s almost like they’re trying to do some “word smithing” to make it sound like it’s a 8 lug wheel.

The 6.7L didn't sell! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-ford-bronco-222/#comments-anchor

Gotta vent a little here. Seller lists a 74 and insists it's a 6.7 liter. BAT changes the listing to say 6.7L. I comment and ask what engine exactly is a 6.7L? That's 408 or 410 ci. So I speculate it's likely a 351W bored and stroked to 408. Seller ignores my question until someone else asks him to answer it. Seller claims he does not know (no shit!) but provides some better pics of the engine. I thank him for the pics and tell him the Edelbrock Performer 289 manifold indicates it's a 289 or 302 block. I don't believe you can bore and stroke a 302 to 6.7L/408 ci.

I ask him why he thinks it's a 6.7? His answer - that's what the inspection report said!

He supplied an inspection report from AiM - Alliance Inspection Management. Other than the comment section on the first page, the inspection report is total bull shit. ALL inspection items are marked Green (indicating "Inspected and is OK") except for 2 items. The items marked Green included: Air conditioner, Seat cooling, Seat heat, Cruise control, Fog lights, Rear windshield wiper arm, Remote key fob, power windows (one hand crank was broken off!), Rear entertainment system and controls, and many other items non-existent on the Bronco. BaT should have screened this one a lot better. Seller obviously knows nothing about Broncos and nothing about the vehicle he was selling.

Rant over.

I apologize if the seller is a member here! LOL
I think what happened is the inspection company fat fingered their report because if you just do a quick 289 Liter size that shows 4.7L. I assume they confused or hit the wrong button but put 6.7 on their report . Regardless, the seller could have figured out what engine it was, and the BaT people should know its not a unicorn 6.7. Also I dont know of people stating a stroked 408 to be any other L than a 5.8

I don't know...............been the rage to call a bored out 302 a 306    :geek: even seen the ask for 306 emblems and air cleaner stickers.
Thats not what i said. I have a 408, and thats what I refer to it as.... But when refering to it in liters, its a 5.8 example at the parts store. If youre buying parts for a 306, you would be buying parts for a 5.0

6.7 L = ~409 ci.

5.8L = ~354 ci.

In my 78 Bronco I have a 351M with a 400 rotating assembly bored .040 over. I refer to it as a 410.

This is an interesting one. I didn't realize it was an ICON until it was mentioned in the comments.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-ford-bronco-170/

It has some interesting changes since it left the ICON facility. The fender flares are the most obvious. Sway-A-Way shocks replaced the Fox shocks. A Smittybilt rollbar has replaced Jonathan's unit, and a Sherman/BC tank has replaced the ICON tank. Interesting choices.

Each choice seems like a bad one.

I liked this one better before they did the changes. https://www.eliteautosllc.com/Pre-Owned-Inventory-1970-Ford-SUV-Bronco-Jonesboro-5870680

I’m not convinced it’s really an Icon. Lots of Icon parts but Factory glove box door, digital gauges aren’t branded, square a/c vents, sport emblem instead of one of the custom icon ones, 5 lug wheels instead of 6, factory frame/vin?, cowl ID card etc

I'm scratching my head too on those items. I noticed one photo shows the frame stamp with the original VIN on it and I didn't think ICON stamped their Morrison frames with original VINs.

EDIT: Just emailed Jonathan and he confirmed it is not one of his builds.

The last time this one made its rounds on BaT, the tale was that a former ICON4x4 employee was behind most of the build. Maybe it was similar to Johnny Cash’s “One Piece at a Time,” where he crafts a vehicle from parts snatched over the years. However, you can't sneak an Art Morrison chassis out in your lunchbox at the end of the workday- hence the original stock frame sticking around.

Wonder what they do instead of stamp? Just hand you a piece of original frame?

Did they come with standard seats like that? Shouldn't it have had cloth centers?
And what's with all these Broncos that have the rear lift gate handle pointed down! Seems like someone was in there and put it back together wrong. I see that almost more often than I see one that is correct.
Wonder if they made these mistakes at the factory sometimes? Kind of doubt it though, since I never saw them like that way back in the day.

Those facts, and the excess black under the hood, made me skeptical that the indicated mileage was actual. But so many other things being original looking, including the pristine floor mat, make me wonder...
