Some guy named 1bigwilly opened the bidding at $5. Soon after a $7000 bid came in with 7 days to go.

He tried for years to make someone local a great deal. One guy offered him $500 as it sat in the barn. Another guy asked how much. He said $3k and the guy said were too far apart to even make an offer.

It was very hard for him dig it out and get the parts together. The tragedies with his two sons and a divorce brought back too many memories. Hope he scores well!

Now to figure out what to do with my 69 frame off project.

That 76' had some cool history with it imo. Definitely had it's physical twists and bends but figured it would go for $20k easy

Lotsa chatter on this 76er with many people asking and giving guesses.
seemed like the average was $8K to $15K on the guesses and that was my guess as well.
I feel it was fairly spot on with the purchase price at $14,500 + $725 commission =$15,225 + $1000/$1500 to ship minimum making it a purchase of $16,500 roughly.
the easiest route would be one of those complete body kits which I hear the quality is pretty good and thats a $22K putting it at $38,500 then all the sweet love n labor to make her into a the beauty she'll be.

BaT is allowing too many early Bronco to be up for auction at the same time. There are currently 10 active and when @Ksm 's was up, I counted as many as 11. This likely dilutes the bidder pool!

I sure thought it would get higher bids than it did.

Our listing had been on deck for a few days. Interesting that they held off until that “project” above closed then our “project” popped up.

What was the tranny story on that 76? Had the manual 3 on the tree shifter and clutch peddle. kickdown linkage was hanging straight down from the C4. Front driveshaft was missing.

front drive shaft was on the pallet
kick down linkage I believe was actually the factory 3 speed 73 n later shifter rod?
at some point from 1999 and later the owner must of starting putting in an automatic?
it has some great parts and a great platform to easily land a body on it or take on the skills of fixing it.
its heading to a collector in Massachusetts

Yes, that one was mine. I had a lot of initial interest but the day it closed there was no one bidding. Super frustrating. I'm going to scrap the auction route and go with a classic car broker here in Dallas.

I was watching it along with that role over project. Didn’t know it was yours. Like I mentioned, weird bidding. Glad you had a reserve based on prices I’ve been watching. My brother would be happy if his closed for the opening bid of $7K. Excluding the $5 smart ass opening bid. Think we’ll do a bit better.

I sold another Bronco last year on BaT and it was a good experience, and there were at least 10 other Broncos for sale at the same time. I think Yeller is right. It's about whose in the room bidding. When I sold mine last year, someone who hadn't bid swooped in at the last minute and was the winner. I do have a reserve on the Bronco about to go live. They fought me on it, though.

A Green (Very Green) and Black 1973 Bronco. It has a bucking bronco painted on the hood. It was a build we did in 2005/2006. It's a really fun truck to drive but with my other toys it hasn't been driven much at all. Only a couple of weeks each summer since the build. My son, 10 years old at the time, picked the colors and some other parts of the truck. I really never intended to sell it so if the reserve isn't met I am going to ship it to my house in Florida. With all of your comments and what happened with KSM's truck, I am not sure what's going to happen.

There’s some real nice stuff on BAT. Lately some clean stock stuff like KSM’s that are not making reserve. This one looks like a bit of lip stick on a pig. Currently at $60K.
