I'm thinking about redoing my dash and picking up one of the BCB blanks they sell so I can get rid of the stereo hole that was cut out, move the glove box over for my roll cage, and install a new air conditioning system. I was looking at the one that moves the gauge cluster from the left to the right side of the steering column so I can put a small speaker and vent in the left side. Is this a tricky thing to do? I guess I'm wondering if the cables and wiring are long enough to make that move without rewiring, etc.

Also...have any of you bought these dash blanks? Any issues with fit, etc. I'd love to see pics of what you guys have done with these blanks. Thanks!

The fit of mine was great. I put all new gauges in mine so wanted the blank. I did do a little work on the edges with some bondo to make it a little smother looking, but it wasn't required.
I don't think the wires are long enough for you to just move the cluster if you are hoping to not have to splice some wires or go with a new harness, but if you have the dash out anyway, all of the wires would be easily accessible and it wouldn't be hard to do that either. Speedo cable may need a new hole drilled for it to be able to reach also.

I used one of Chuck's dash units as well. It worked and fit great. Allowed me to simplify and only include the things I wanted in the dash. Very pleased.

Thanks so much for this feedback! That's kind of what I thought about the cluster. I was hoping to get the dash first and get it all done before I even take the old one out to minimize downtime but I guess I'll take it apart first and decide if I should move the cluster or not. I'd love to see some pics of a dash with the cluster in the middle. It sounds like it would be cool but who knows until you see it!

The BC dash is slightly different on the sides. I don't think it really matters, but if you want it to be really stock it is different.

If you're going to do a bunch of changes to the layout you could weld in patches to what you have, grind, bondo, sand, and paint. Starting with a BC blank would probably be easier.

I ordered my BC blank dash Wednesday and plan to locate a 6.5" speaker on the left like tawl-boy. I haven't decided on locating the cluster just right of the column or in the center. I have a picture I saved from another thread showing the cluster in the center. Doing that would make the switches easier to reach.

I started with the blank BC dash and this is what I came up with:

Very nice job! Are those air vents and if so do you like them and where'd you get them?

I don't see that version of the glovebox on BC broncos website? The only one I see is with the speedo cluster directly in the middle of the dash. Your cluster looks like it is still to the left a little?

you can buy it blank and put the hole wherever you want. I bought mine blank and am narrowing it to fit inside the roll cage. It's nicely made.

Mine a blank(except for column and mounting holes. I had them(BC) hole saw out the speedo cluster on the opposite side of the column.

There are some interference issues with the cluster and one of the defroster vents, and I had to trim the bottom of the instrument cluster slightly. But it was an unseen area.

I'm gonna go a custom oversize marine glovebox.

We used a BC blank (except for the column hole and the re-positioned glove box). We went with a custom gauge set up though.
