BC Bronco Header install question

Need a little help please. Installing the BC headers tomorrow. Soaking all the bolts today and I noticed a hard vacuum line running from the stock RH exhaust manifold up to the carb.

I looked at the BC headers and don't see any provision on the header to accept this hard line.

Can someone chime in and tell me what this hard line is and if it is required after the headers go on?

If I need it, how do I attach it to the new RH side header? If I don't need it, am I just plugging up the carb side?

Please help. I've got the help of a friend with a lift and I don't want to slow down the job tomorrow figureing this stuff out.

choke stove tube?

There should be a aftermarket option to still get heat up the tube. I think they wrap a plate around the tube or maybe you can just get some copper tubing and wrap it around the header tube a few times before going back up to the choke.

Yep, what he said. You can still install the headers and then hook it up later if you want.
It's required if you live in a smog-check area and your Broncos falls under that umbrella. There may actually be two tubes in that area. One goes to the choke housing itself and has a brass threaded coupler, and the other terminates at a rubber hose and attaches to the hose fitting into the air-horn of the rear of the carb. Different years might have been different, but I always found two.

If BC doesn't have a kit, you can usually (or used to) find one at the local auto parts stores. Especially the more well equipped ones.

Good luck. The truck will still start and run without it/them, but they're a bit more efficient with them installed. especially in colder weather.

Oh, and if you run into a little clearance issue with a flange and frame here or there, try loosening the motor mount nuts and the two of you can grab a header each and "rotate" the engine in it's cradle.
There is some tolerance here, so a quick twist can sometimes be all that's needed to clear things up.

There are some other threads where this has been successful, but figured I'd mention it again to save you some time.

Thanks guys. Can't wait for tomorrow. Haven't driven it in weeks since I found the stock manifold cracks.

Hopefully it will be a painless install.
