BC Bronco Power Door Locks with Keyless entry option

Does anyone have experience installing the BC Bronco solution?

The physical install looks simple enough, but how the door locks and the keyless entry wire together apparently isn’t so simple for me.

I thought I understood it, but it doesn’t work the way I have it.

I’m assuming they are closed this weekend and maybe even next week due to COVID-19, so I thought I would try here in the meantime.

Anyone make this work already?

Sam

Yes, I installed the BC keyless door lock system on the Chariot. Works fine. What I like is the parking lights flash during the operation. I followed the instructions and I don't recall any "gotchas". What is your problem?

I have the two 5 wire actuators connected to their controller, and this controller connected to power and ground.

I have the keyless entry controller connected to power and ground.

What wires are connected together between the actuator controller and the keyless entry controller to control the actuators remotely?

I tried connecting the keyless entry controller white (lock common wire) to the actuator controller white (lock) and the White / Black (unlock common wire) on the keyless entry controller to the brown (lock) wire
On the actuator controller. With this config the actuators don’t actuate. The keyless entry controller just “clicks”.

How are your two controllers connected together?

Thanks for your help.

Sam

It has been a while since I installed the system, but looking back at the instructions for the keyless entry upgrade module, the instructions simply state to plug in the keyless entry module. The central locking system module is not used. The white and brown wires on the lock harness are not used. The single parking light wire coming off the keyless module is connected to the parking light output. Then you just connect the power wire to your constant 12V source and, if you have adjusted the lock rods as the instructions indicate, you should be in business.

Here are the keyless module instructions that say what I just said.

Well, I may have the wrong keyless entry module then because my central lock harness won’t plug directly into my keyless entry model at as your picture shows. Here’s a picture of mine:

I figured it out. Once you clued me in that I didn’t need to use the central door lock module, I figured out how to direct wire the actuators green and blue wire to the keyless entry modules white and white/black wire. Green to White and blue to white / black.

Then the keyless module is wired by connecting red, yellow, and yellow/black to hot, and the black, orange, and orange/black to ground.

Thanks for your help, and maybe this will help someone else.

Congratulations on figuring that out. It Looks like the modules changed a little from when I did it and they use bunches of bullet connectors. All the instructions would have to say is that the other module is unused if you use the keyless one. But they let you guess instead. Anyway that system is really slick. I keep thinking about putting one in the '76, but dread the running of wires and such. So I never get around to it.

I hate running wires too. Speaking of wires, how did you route the wires into the doors. Did you use something like this it another method?

That's what I wanted to use, but I did not have that at the time. I used a grommet and some quality wire bundle cover. I did buy those later. Who knows if I ever get up the nerve to swap them in. I say go with those. The BC routing instructions are good by the way. Takes a little fishing but very clean routing for the space.
