Here I feel like I am spinning my wheels a lot, everytime I think I'm getting ahead the price of something goes up. The mandatory workmans comp is a good example. I'm told Ca is the highest but provides the least benifit to the worker. Here in public schools we are paying for teachers to teach in other languages and giving illegals free collage while students from other states pay top dollar to go to school here. I guess this is not the right place to whine about that kind of stuff. Anyway I will still only be a toll free phone call away.
P.S. The price of gas today was $3.01 I may not be able to afford the gas to leave.

At least Arnold has made some progress on the worker's comp mess. I was reading that average worker's comp premiums are dropping by 26% since he passed his reforms last year. Hopefully that give you some relief in the short run. But the libs and their special interests aren't too happy with him and are trying to run him out of office, and they just might succeed. Heaven forbid we try to fix some things in this dysfunctional state. Good luck in Texas, I certainly understand your reasons for wanting to leave.

From what I have seen of Texas it has a large number of small towns that need to be looked at like Fredricksburg. Debbie's fav. is x-mas so she will be there often I think. I like to go to swap meets and hope to have one myself. The answer to your question is yes I plan to.

That makes no sense,.. Fredricksburg is a nice, German-heritage town that thrives on tourism,.. Chuck will do well in the hill-country. It's not like he is going to start wearing liederhosen, and discontinue selling Bronco parts..... %)

They protect their own, in the oppertunities area, the Work area, and the Legal area.
And they do not care about the law nor who gets hurt, just revenge.
I am helping two young girls that were left homeless and desitute, because of mans inability to act as an adult. and the judge acted as if it is normal behavoir.

My friends and family visit the hill country of Texas 3 or 4 times a year. Its a homey and rural area, for myself, going up in Kansas I will say that we all hold back from outsiders a bit until we know who and what they are about. Fredricksburg economy is tourism for the most part, so there are a lot of people I'm sure that avoid tourist and in the process seem to be a little distant or put offish. But overall we have never had any problems with the people there, but we don't have a business there. I have had dealings with a machine company there (Fredricksburg) called Quantum, all I have to say about them is good. Great bunch of guys who are easy to work with.

As far as the other situation, unfortunately there are people like that in the world. I commend you for being involved and giving these girls a chance at a good life. While I'm not going to guess what the situation is here, Chuck is bringing business to an area that is mostly blue collar and he will have work to be done by fab shops in that area. This in its self will be why Chuck won't have problems, he won't be stealing jobs or be a fly by night business, but a permanent part of that areas economy.

feitctag -- won't get into the virtues of S. Texas with ya, because you've obviously had some real experiences. However, I've had a little experience down there myself and I can tell you that there is good and bad wherever you travel -- but I'm confident that there is much more good than bad in that part of the country. And I'm just as confident that Chuck and his crew will be welcomed with open arms. Much of what you receive is what you give.

Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from the Union(please refer to the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848). We Texans love ya'll, but we'll have to take action if Kerry wins the presidency over Bush. We'll miss you too. Texas has given all those complainers plenty of time to get used to the results. After seeing the whiners along the campaign route, the folks from Texas are considering taking matters into our hands.

Here is our solution:
#1: Let John Kerry become President of the United States. (all 49 states.)
#2: George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic of Texas.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. (We will control the space industry.)

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.

3. Defense Industry. We have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with Texas," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - We can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. John Kerry will figure a way to keep them warm ...

6. Computer Industry - We currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for Cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: UT, Rice, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the south anyway

9. We have a ready supply of workers. (just open the Mexican border when we need some more).

10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and lets not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Kerry:
Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have any TV as the space center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes but since Mr. Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas.
