I finally got a 69 bronco that I have wanted for a long time. I know it is not much to look at but it's one that I have known about since I was a kid. When I was in my teen's I had the opportunity to buy it the man name Mr. Slappy He told me I could have it for 3000 dollars I drove it home to ask my dad if I could barrow the money he said no but you can sell your bronco "75 ranger "and buy that one I liked it but not that much so I had to take it back to Mr. Slappy and tell him I could not swing it "I was about 17/18 then and pushed grocery's at Harvey super market for about 70$ a week" he said no problem I really did not want to sell it any way. Mr. Slappy died and passed it on to Ty his son I stayed in touch with Ty through the years Ty was also a good friend and he always said if I ever do any thing with that bronco you will be the first to know. So about 6 mouth's ago he called me and said he needed some heavy equipment work done at his house as of a result of hurricane Michael. I said sure then he said I want to trade the bronco for the work. I am a sucker and said sure with out knowing what had to be done. Lets just say I would have been better off buying it 28 years ago but I would do it again if I had the chance I AWAYS WANTED THAT BRONCO! It really is no cream puff It was used for hunting quail that's why it has the rack on front and had a dog box in the back most all it's life there for the floor pan's rusted out and Ty did some flat plate metal work so the dogs and his feet would not go through the floor %)I always thought it came red and white but I have come to know it was originally pebble beige and Mr. Slappy had it repainted to match His then new 77 F150 red and silver two tone truck. I realize that it is a good thing that I did not buy it 28 years ago I would not still have it today so it worked out for the best. I have been enjoying it using it as a side by side around the yard and a dog taxi. I have also been teaching Raygan my 11 year old daughter to drive 3 on the tree. Any way here it is rough as a cobb;D I have no real plans as of now just keep using it around to yard. It will get a restore one day I hope.

Congrats ford man, love these stories. Looks like when Mr Slappy got rid of the 77 he kept the hub caps :)

It might be rough, but it looks very straight with no obvious exterior rust/rot. Looks like a great candidate for a restoration some day. Later 69 with electric wipers? Congrats on finally getting it.

Your right Scoop it is really not to bad the outer body did good as far as rust a little in the lip of the hood even the bumpers are strait and not bent.

He put the hub caps on when he painted it so it would look just like his 77 F150 the 150 was 2wd but it was an extended cab with a 460!

I was visiting Brian about 15 years ago and we had drove around most of the day looking at Broncos in the south Georgia area that Brian knew about. He told me about this Bronco and the 'story' and told me we would go by and see it too. We pulled into Mr. Slappy's farm which was almost encroached by the urban sprawl, and Brian pointed to a distant barn and said "see it over there?"....amid tractors, trucks, and farm equipment... He quickly decided that Mr. Slappy might not be home and we left without me getting much of a look. I think Mr. Brian didn't want me to look much at it!...;);)

Hey Brian...Do you remember much of this story? LOL....Hey! I'm glad you got it! It's one of those that had/has a special place in your heart! The video of her driving it is priceless too!!
