From what I have read in past posts the LuK clutch's seem to be good.
Is there anything better and can you buy the LuK brand from anywhere other than the EB Vendors ( shipping is a killer ).

Thanks again,
David

Luk was about all I could find when I started looking for a clutch. Most of the chain houses can get them. They are good clutches.

...and Centerforce uses the LuK pressure plates and modifies them with their trademark tweaks. I like my Centerforce. Not cheap, but works well and free shipping from Summit after the handling charge.

Luk is a darn good clutch. I run those..but I run the Centerforce Dual-Friction in my trail rigs (that's not the Centerforce II) because of the high torque motors I'm running and the abuse I have seen them take over the years.

I ran a Hays for a while in one rig and liked how that performed too..but the pedal was too darned stiff compared to the centrifugal diaphragm types.

Centerforces show an advantage at high RPM shifting. Get a stock-type diaphragm clutch (like an LUK) and be done with it. The rest is just good marketing.

I bought a new clutch for my ZF install from NAPA and guess what was stamped on the clutch? Yep you guessed it! It was a LUK clutch. Supposedly they make most of the clutches for the parts houses.

Clutch

I had a parts house check on a LuK clutch for me and they said it listed a 10 15/16 with a 10 spline ????
Is this the right one or should it be a 11".

Thanks,
David

Not to high jack the thread, but if you still run the inline six like I do, Mcleod makes the only performance clutch and diaphram pressure plate, that I have found. It is an 1/8" shy from the stock 9 3/8" that Ford used stock. Even at 9 1/4" it is supposed to be a good contender.

Now Tom's or BC's sells one the same size, but I believe you have to cut into your bellhousing to make it fit due to the different P.P. they use (brand unknown), and it is only for stock motors.

Even though I had my stock P.P. rebuilt, and with a new clutch disc, the turbo motor I have will still slip the clutch at higher rpms.

Just something to let y'all know.

Have a good one.

Kirk
