So, I bought a Bronco in MD and hired a transport company to drag it to GA for me. The timeline for transport was from this Monday till this Friday. Well... The transport company has yet to pick the truck up and the seller is pisssssed for having to put his life on hold waiting for them to come get the truck. He's angry at me and I am on the horn about every couple of hours trying to get the shipper to give me an answer so I can tell the seller what the heck is going on.....what should I do?

Insert helpful advice here: _________________________________

Anyone on here that you trust that lives semi close and has room that can grab it and bring it to thier place for you so seller is done. Then you can either arange pick up from there or just run up and get it yourself when you have time.

And never do it again!!!

Start paying the seller some small storage fees. That may ensure you get what you bought, when it arrives. You will both benefit.

Take the super flipper cape off and stop trying to flip everything you see.
You could borrow some ones trailer and go get it. Problem solved.
Rent a u haul trailer for the trip back. No asking to borrow some ones stuff.

Why don't you hire a new shipper? Sounds like this one is unreliable. Hope it's not one of those clowns from shipping wars.

Bax has made several points that you should consider. Go get the damn thing or as others have suggested, make an agreement to give the chap a daily storage fee in good faith until whatever way of getting it -- once you finally get it figured out.
My.02$ worth.

I know going myself makes the most sense, but my wife, the kids and I leave Friday evening for our family summer vacation (hence the requested delivery on Friday before we leave). Won't be back for 7 days.

Anyone know of a DEPENDABLE transporter?

Damn, you set this up cutting it awfully close for delivery before your vacation. You know anyone close to your investment that could pick it up temporarily for you?

Trying to find that.

Shipping company gave quote based on meeting these dates....no worries they said.

May call a wrecker service and have them store it. So much for getting bids and going with a good deal. :(

If you used USHIP.com. I can only guess what you are experiencing. Russian 3rd party transporters that will cuss you out when they can't get near the pick-up location because they can't understand the road signs... Pay more for a dedicated transport. I am in MD near DC but have no inside storage. Does the car run?

Having shipped several cars to Atlanta from the northwest and northeast, I learned the hard way to NOT try to cheap out on it.

The first time I learned the lesson the hard way, The truck was prompt at picking up the vehicle in New Hampshire, which gave me a false sense of hope. He drove it to New York and dropped the car in a yard because he did not have a full load going south. So it sat for a week. Once it finally started moving south, he missed 4 consecutive days that he said he would deliver it. After he and I got into a fight over the phone, he threatened to pull over and drop the car off where he was (somewhere in Virginia). He finally made it to Atlanta - I was prepared for a fist fight based on the relationship we had developed.

Fortunately, the agreement I signed had a penalty for delivering more than 2 days passed a predetermined delivery date, so I paid him only a partially what the original quote was. Read your agreement.

I have used Intercity Lines the last couple of times. Cost me a couple hundred extra bucks, but the white glove treatment is great and comes with peace of mind.

Are you still trying to sell this one?

Good luck - F

Just contacted Allen F. via email for some possible storage help. Also just fired original transporter and getting quotes from reputable shippers.

No Farrell, keeping this one since the seller finally put it all together like we contracted. Just need to get it in my driveway to see what I bought and that seems like the trouble now. :)

Were you working with a transport company directly or a broker? Brokers are what you'll encounter on all the web sites. They are as trustworthy as a debt collector. You won't get anywhere by firing one to try another. They can't make stuff happen, they only set up arrangements.

Isn't it being stored at a shop? Pay them storage, they'll calm down. It's all part of it. Nothing goes smoothly.
