Bilstein 5100 shock part number?

Does anyone know what the part number for the Bilstein 5100 front shocks would be for our broncos with a 3.5” suspension lift?

Aside from the top of the shock having a post instead of an eye are all of the 5100s created equal? It seems like a 5100 for other trucks would be set up softer or heavier depending on what they would be going on.

Different valving. I just got a catalog from them at SEMA, along with a discussion about valving.

What I need to know is the compressed length. With the axle smashed up against the bumpstop. If you get a shock too long and it bottoms before the bumpstop, you get to buy new shocks again.
Once we know compressed length there will be a full extension length. Check if that works for you. If it does, you have a shock you can use. If you still need more droop, now you need different shock mounts.

Per Bilstein, the PN you're looking for is 24-065283.

Those are 13.27" compressed, 21.50" extended, 8.23" travel. Valving is 398/94.

There is also the 33-230450. If you have to move the bumpstops to keep the tire out of the sheetmetal or other reasons this one is a little longer at 14.30 compressed but will droop out to 22.90" Almost another 1½" of droop. Valving is a touch lighter at 360/80 (which I was told was a better valving for an early Bronco by the Bilstein rep).

There is another that has the same valving but is even longer. 33-230412 has a compressed length of 15.20 and extended 24.40". Up the travel to 9.2" There is another beyond even that with the right valving that has 11.2" of travel but that is pretty long and not even close to fitting the stock mounts with that little lift.

I highly recommend taking the front spring out and jacking the axle up to make sure the tires and all the other parts fit correctly. And while at it, measure what really fits.

I agree on taking the springs out and measuring everything.

I think the number I quoted must be the one that WH uses as I recall that valving number.

If you are running stock radius arms you will be losing about 3-4" of downward travel. If you switch to TRex by Duff, you gain all of the range of flex to match that shocks ability. Their springs also match the full range of motion. 2.5" is the best combination for as close to equal down and up travel from the new ride height, 3.5" you lose 1" down and gain 1" up.

I am looking at the t-Rex arms and was hoping to use my current bilsteins. I am currently running a basic WH 3.5 and would also get the duff shock towers. Does anyone know if the bilstein 24-065283, as described above would work with the duff t-Rex and Duff towers? (Also considering moving to a 2.5 height set of springs and leafs from duff).

Download the Bilstein Truck / Off-road catalog and look at the Custom Applications. The shock will be listed as 5125s. There are many different lengths available.

360/80 Valving for the Front and 255/70 Valving for the Rear seems to work great for the early Bronco.

I am looking at the t-Rex arms and was hoping to use my current bilsteins. I am currently running a basic WH 3.5 and would also get the duff shock towers. Does anyone know if the bilstein 24-065283, as described above would work with the duff t-Rex and Duff towers? (Also considering moving to a 2.5 height set of springs and leafs from duff).

Probably best to just do a mock up. Valving should be fine. Lengths checked with the springs removed and cycle the suspension.
