OK guys, I'm at a loss. I've searched around for images and discussions on where to connect the newly installed booster brake vacuum line for my set-up. I have a 2 barrel carb and the port from that goes to the PCV. Can you guys see another logical place to connect? Sorry if this is straight forward rookie stuff to you...Im much more a fab guy than a motor guy. '71 302

There is a port plug on the intake that is next to the bracket contacting you throttle cable. If that is in the intake runner then you can use that port.

Hi, that port will be good. You can get rid of the right angle bracket of you want. I would bring the cap to the parts store do you get the right size. I think it is 3/8 NPT.
I also see a vacuum fitting on the right side of the carb, under the air filter. Since you are not using it you should put a rubber plug on it. Good luck

The pipe plug in the intake manifold behind the carburetor is the vacuum source for brake boosters or any other part that needs full intake vacuum. Just put a 3/8" nipple in that hole. You may want an actual vacuum tree with the 3/8" connection plus smaller nipples. You need at least 1 for a vacuum gauge.

So you ARE saying the blue plug in the 3rd photo should have a tree and one of the branches should be hooked to the booster?

Looking at all the photos, tells me the automatic choke isn't getting filtered air. The nipple on the bottom of the choke housing should be plumbed to the brass nipple on the underside of the air cleaner platform. I also don't see a PCV valve. Is there one in the pass. side valve cover? We need a photo of the front of the engine, to see if there is a breather in the driver side valve cover. I doubt that cheesy chrome air cleaner has a way to provide filtered air to the crank case. It looks like a car flipper did some cosmetic shiny bling and threw out the quality original parts.

Thanks for the guidance guys. Unbelievable how nice the brakes feel now! I guess it didnt help that my original master cylinder was just basically sloshing brake fluid around in the housing and not really pushing much.
