Oh, so that's what that red light is for.

is that to let you know the parking brake is on?

no, it lets you know if there is a brake pressure imbalance from front to rear....basically a warning light if something is wrong with the brakes.

However, I bet you could wire up a little microswitch to the E brake pedal to have this come on when it's set.
