Hey guys, I am considering selling a brand new in box Warn Full Float kit, but I have no idea where to start on price. This is the kit with 31 spline chromo shafts, spindles, wheel hubs, seals, bearings, and lug studs. Can you guys offer any insight into what I should be looking for out of it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you are able to offer!

I always thought these were a great idea,
even though the consensus seems to be they suck.

Are these kits still in production new?

Warn discontinued these several years ago. Anyone that runs this set up should buy this kit for spares. I sold a used 31 spline set up, two years ago for $200. You need to run rear disc with these floater kits.

I have it on my 72. The main problem was the rear hubs leaking gear oil like spin art an your rim and tire. Most of us running em swapped to drive flanges. Other than that I've been happy with it. From what I remember you were able to keep the drum brakes. To run disc brakes you had to buy the caliper brackets separate.

Thanks for the legit responses that were on point. I wasn’t really looking for the pros and cons, but rather the value of the new kit in today’s marketplace. If a couple hundred bucks is all it is worth, I’ll leave it on the shelf possibly for a future build. I was hoping for several times that.

Outside of the leaky hubs I've been happy with it. Unfortunately with all the negative press it got I dont see you getting rich off it. I still think the $600 range is fair. You also need to see which housing it was for.

Not looking to get rich, just figured it would be in the $1,000 range with it being all brand new stuff with high strength axles. My recollection is that it was for big brake housings.

I recall 2 different hub designs as well. The original had a Dana 44 hub. Later ones had a larger lockout and even got to the point of having set screws on the lockouts to keep the knobs from unlocking while driving. After that wasn't enough they were pulled from the market.

You will want to identify the exact part number due to slight differences in mounting of the spindle to the housing depending on year and brake size. I show :66-75 LG bearing, 74-75 LG bearing medium duty and 76-77 LG bearing.

These have not been on the market for years. To give you an idea WH sold our last one in 2003. We bailed on this product about 2 years before it was discontinued from WARN. To many problems with leaks is what it came down to.

I still run a 35 spline version in my crawler. The issues can be worked out but i can say I would not build a rear end this way again. There are many more and better options these days.

I would think you could sell this easily to someone just for back up parts seeing it's not available anywhere. I think people who have worked out the issues on their Warn flotter kits would like to have some extra parts as long as the price is reasonable. Throw out a price and see what happens. I'm not in the market so no dog in the fight. Just my .02. Good luck with the sale.
