Just an update question.
How have all of yours been doing in the "staying on" department when going down the freeways?
Not that flying off has been a huge issue with them, but every once in awhile it used to happen with the factory covers. Won't even bother to include the poorly fitted ones of old, that would fly off every other trip above 60mph! But how are these doing?
My factory cover (Ranger if I remember) stayed on for years, but then one day did fly off. Luckily I saw it and got it back. But the next time I didn't catch it and it was long gone.
Took a few years (maybe 10 years in full use and outdoors?) before it did that, but the fact that it did made me wonder about the new ones. Way back when they were about $30 bucks it didn't seem as bad. Even when 30 bucks was a lot of money for some things. Just seems like it'd be a bummer to lose one at 200!

Hey Paul,
Not had any issues with it staying on. But do have to temper that with the fact that most the winding roads in this neck of the woods, are 2 lane and 55 mph (and usually lower) speed limits. Very Bronco friendly and not exactly your definition of “freeway”. Even I-40 is just a 4 lane until you get closer to the larger cities, and there’s usually routes thru the country to avoid the highways. It’s stayed put on the times when opening up to 60-65 to blow out the cobwebs.

That said, Angie’s covers have the usual elastic in the rim with plastic hooks and a set of metal D-rings sewn in each side of the opening. Your thought did cross my mind..... I’ve put a small lock in the D-rings and around the spare tire carrier cable. Figured if it came off unseen, at least the tattered remnants would get dragged home. And it possibly would deter someone just long enough - who might decide they’d like one “off the shelf” rather than order their own😉

Will post up some pics later.

Perfect, thank you.
The loops and D-rings are a great idea.
In fact, I have seen a few other covers being dragged along behind by straps, now that you mention it. 😁

Here are the pics. The sides are longer (this one is stock size tire), so they wrap further around the tire and the carrier helps hold it in place.

As Lime Ranger pointed out, the letters and logos are stitched.

Also, the welt is more brown than the oem burnt orange in color.

I bought a ranger one from her years ago and loved it. very durable!

My one complaint was that it got dirty and I find anything to get the "stains" off the vinyl. Can't say that's Angies fault or not as far as what material was used to make them.

At any rate, I would buy another and probably will.

Whats the current going rate for a cover from Angie?
