If I understand correctly, if the Explorer front dress will fit any small block Ford, it will fit the ‘91 mustang 5.0 that’s in my EB. Does it make any difference if it’s now a 347 stroker with edlebrock intake and carb and AFR heads? May be a stupid question with all the posts about Explorer swaps, but trying to make sure before I start looking for said front dress. Not to sound like a shameless plug here. But I run the Explorer components in everything I own with a SBF. But it's not just for the EFI. The Explorer fan is better, the alternator is better, the water pump is less likely to leak, the power steering pump is better, and the shorter front dress makes it more enjoyable to work on if needed.
Unless you've got something super rare that should be left 100% original, anything is forgivable (except a GM engine swap).
Also, does it matter what year explorer?
